G. Richard Locke
G. Richard Locke, age 92 of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 11:48 AM
Tuesday August 28, 2018 at the State of the Heart Care Center in
Greenville, Ohio. Dick was born December 25, 1925 in Greenville
and the son of the late Leonard and Lottie (Smith) Locke.
He retired in 1985 as Sales Manager of Greenville Concrete as was a
veteran serving in the U.S. Air Force. Dick was an avid trumpet
player and was a very active and well known instructor. He had
played in many jazz and concert bands and spent 40 years as the trumpet
player in the Donn Smith Orchestra. He also served as President
of the former Greenville Musician Club and a member of the Greenville
Masonic Lodge.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son-in-law
Jim Brown and his sister Lanette Locke.
Dick was survived by his wife Hazel (Goodrich) Locke of
Greenville. They were married November 19, 1944. Also
children Lynn (James) Viall of Vista, California, Deborah Locke of
Cincinnati and Lori (Grant) Lovett of Brownsburg, Indiana;
grandchildren Emily (Scott) Montenaro, Tim Myers, Piper Lovett and
Mason Lovett; great grandchildren Arden Montenaro and Charlotte
Montenaro; brother Robert Locke of Piqua as well as numerous nieces and
nephews.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.

It is the wishes of the family that Memorial Contributions be given to
the State of the Heart Care of Darke County.
