Danny J. Richards
Danny J. Richards, 84, of Greenville, passed away on January 4, 2018 at Heartland of Greenville.
He was born September 30, 1933 in Hollansburg, the son of the late Amon
and Letha (Sharrit) Richards. In addition to his parents, Danny is
preceded in death by his brothers, Amon Niles Richards, Dickie
Richards, Jack Richards, Gary Richards, Billy Richards, Steve Richards
and Gene Richards; his sisters, Jane Weschke, Maryilyn Kenworthy, Lois
Arthur, and Janet Richhart and his loving fur babies, Jack Daniel,
Maggie and Petie.
Danny served our country honorably in the U. S. Air Force for 20 years,
retiring in 1972. After retiring, Danny was a jack of all trades. He
enjoyed small engine repair, carpentry, building pole barns and
gardening. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends.
Danny is survived by his wife of 61 years, Wilma "Punk" (Lindamood)
Richards of Hollansburg, whom he married November 26, 1956; his
children, Mickie (Terry) Coleman of St. Louis, Missouri, Becki
Scantland of Dayton, Darci (Pete) Stodd of Bellbrook, Dana (Rocky)
Stahl of Greenville, and Niles A. (Ranee) Richards of Greenville; 19
grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; his brother and sister-in-law,
Tommy and Carolyn Richards of Hollansburg; his sister, Joan (Teaford)
Bennett of Oregon; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside Celebration of Life service will be held at 10 AM on
Saturday, January 13, 2018 at the Hollansburg Cemetery with Rev. Eric
Fee officiating with full graveside military services being conducted.
Immediately following the graveside services, there will be a
Celebration of Life gathering at the Greenville Moose Lodge, 1200
Sweitzer Street, Greenville, Ohio 45331.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hollansburg
American Legion Post 708, 121 W. Liberty Street, Hollansburg, Ohio
45332.
Danny's family would like to thank the staff at Heartland of Greenville
and Heartland Hospice for the exceptional care they gave to Danny
during his stay there.
