Edna (Hill) Eberst
Edna (Hill) Eberst, 97, of Greenville, passed away Sunday, December 31,
2017 at Brookdale of Greenville.
She was born September 23, 1920 in Peoria, Illinois, the daughter of
the late James Cafferty and Sophia Veronica (Riehm) Barnett.
In addition to her parents, Edna was preceded in death, on June 26.
1961, by her first husband, Kenneth L. Hill, whom she married on
December 17, 1945 in Vallejo, California. She was preceded in death, on
February 4, 2005, by her second husband, Gordon Eberst, whom she
married on July 3, 1982 in Gettysburg, Ohio. Edna was also preceded in
death by seven brothers and three sisters.
Edna retired from Hobarts of Greenville in 1983. She was a member of
Gettysburg Presbyterian Church for over fifty years. She was a
homemaker, enjoyed farming, sewing and spending time with family and
friends.
She is survived by three children and their spouses, Connie Sinclair of
Greenville, Thomas and Darlene Hill of Gettysburg, and Gary and Barb
Hill of Pitsburg; four grandchildren and their spouses, Karen and
Darrell Leis, Thomas and Shelly Hill, Nancy and Karl Albers, Sean and
Sheridee McAfee; nine great grandchildren and their spouses, Megan and
Ben Stull, Nathan and Kendra Hill, Emily Hill, Jacob Hill, Tyler
Overholser and his fiancé Keona George, Ben Albers, Sam Albers, Jordan
McAfee, and Graciana McAfee; and a great-great grandson, Benson Stull;
step grandchildren and their spouses, Molly and Brian Ring, Darrek and
Addie Leis, Darren and Kim Leis and Natalee Swallow; step great
grandchildren, Landon Ring, and Avery Ring; and a step great-great
granddaughter, Lux Leis.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 12PM, Thursday, January
4, 2018 at Oliver Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville. Burial will follow
in Gettysburg Cemetery.
Family and friends may visit Thursday from 10AM until 12PM at the
funeral Home
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made
to State of the Heart Care, 1350 N. Broadway St. Greenville, Ohio 45331.
