Lucy (Hall) Hedger

Lucy (Hall) Hedger, 85, of Hollansburg, passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at Rest Haven Nursing Home in Greenville.

She was born on September 23, 1932 in Kentucky to the late Robert and Nellie (Blackwell) Hall.

Lucy was a graduate of Eaton High School and was the librarian at Tri-Village schools for 10 years before retiring. Lucy, along with her husband Harold, owned and operated Hedger's Auction House in Hollansburg. She had a passion for cooking and had a massive collection of recipes. Above all, Lucy loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Lucy was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Hedger; her son, Tony Hedger; son-in-law, Floyd L. Rogers; her brothers, Marvin Hall, Luther Hall, and Sonny Hall; her sisters, Gladys Wilson, Fannie Jackson, Annie Hall, Marjorie Geeting, Betty Ashman, and Reva Hartman.

Lucy is survived by her daughter, Shirley Tapp of Hollansburg; her daughter-in-law, Sheryll Hedger of Hollansburg; her grandchildren; Kristi (John) Thiebeau of Versailles, Jason Hedger of Palestine, Misti (Terry) Tuente of Versailles, Sherry (Matt) Sharp of Greenville; her great grandchildren, Jarod Sharp, Loren Sharp, Jadyn Sharp, Lucy Tuente and Trina Tuente; her great great grandson, Kohen Sharp; several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1PM, Monday, January 22, 2018 at Oliver Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville with Pastor John Sgroofficiating. Burial will follow in Hollansburg Cemetery.

Family and friends may visit on Monday from 11AM until the time of service at 1PM at the funeral home.
