Samuel Albert Stevens
Samuel Albert Stevens, 86, of Titusville, Florida, passed away on
January 9, 2018, at his residence.
Samuel was born, May 8,1931 in Wayne County, Indiana, a son of the late
Herschel and Rachel (Petry) Stevens. He was born just outside the city
limits of Richmond on the family farm.
In addition to his parents, Samuel was preceded in death by his wife,
Norma June (Walters) Stevens in August of 2007 after sharing 57 years
together; his son, Danny Stevens in December of 2016; and his brother,

He was a 1949 graduate of Centerville High School. He married his High
School sweetheart, Norma June Walters, on January 10, 1950. Together
they raised 3 children; Jeffery, Danny, and Connie. In the year of
1959, they moved to Darke County, Ohio after they purchased a dairy
farm, and it was there that Sam and Norma raised their young family.
After selling the majority of the farm property in 1979, they kept a
portion and lived there.
After selling the farm Sam was employed at Middleton Stockyards in New
Madison, Ohio, where he drove livestock trucks and tended to duties at
the stockyards. In the winter of 1981, he and Norma moved into New
Madison, Ohio. He then became the street maintenance manager for the
city of New Madison, retiring from that position in 2005 at the age of
74. By 2013, he became a "snowbird" to Titusville, Florida, where
daughter, Connie resided.
As age began to make daily life a little more difficult to navigate, he
permanently moved to Florida in Aug. 2017, and became a resident of

spot dolphins and manatees.
