Donald R. Baker
Donald R. Baker, age 81, of Greenville passed away at 9:55 PM on
Friday, March 23, 2018, at his residence.
Donald was born May 26, 1936, in Darke County to the late Everett L.
& Lola E. Baker. In addition to his parents, Donald was also
preceded in death by a great-grandchild, Abigail Charlotte Hoff.
Donald is survived by his wife, Gretchen (Royer) Baker whom he married
June 29, 1957; children, Phil & Sheri Baker of Greenville, Rev.
Doug & Michelle Baker of Greenville and Anthony & Martha Baker
of Naperville, Illinois; grandchildren, Angela & Michael Hoff,
Cassandra & Robert Riegle, Darrel Baker, Michelle Baker, Natalie
Baker, John Baker and Daulton Truett; great-grandchildren, Hannah Hoff,
Lydia Hoff, Connor Riegle, Rylee Riegle and Ryker Riegle; sister &
brother-in-law, Beverly & Marvin Miller of Greenville; and a nieces
and nephews.
Donald retired from Greenville City Schools where he was a custodian.
He formerly worked at Sears. Donald was an avid woodworker and shared
his gift with many.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, March 28,
2018, at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville with Rev. Doug Baker
officiating. Burial will follow in Abbottsville Cemetery in Darke
County. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM
at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to State of the
Heart Care.
