H. Dean White

H. Dean White, 82, of Greenville, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by family and loved ones, on May 27, 2018.

Dean was born on April 21, 1936, in London, Kentucky, to the late Abbie Gail (Phillips) White. In addition to his mother, Dean was preceded in death by his wife Darlene (Henry) White; sons, Carl White and Greg White; granddaughter, Misha Lyn Pugh; and great granddaughter Brooklyn Grace Long; brothers, William, Lee (Glenna), Junior, Contee (Patti) and Jack (Jan) White; sister Mona (Pat) Wagner; brother-in-law, Bill Randall.

Dean was a loving husband and father that spent many hours boating and camping at Cumberland Lake, London, KY. After living 60 plus years in Ohio he never forgot his roots and was an avid Kentucky Wildcat fan. He worked at Sheller Globe in Union City until the shut down and he retired. He then went back to work for the Greenville City Schools until he could retire again. He came to know Jesus as his Savior late in life when he was led to the Lord by his oldest son Carl while he was in hospice care himself with stage 4 cancer.

Dean is survived by his children, Dean (Ann) White of Greenville, Debi (Dan) Pugh of Butler, Indiana, and Carol (Rodney) Paul of Greenville; daughters-in-law, Anita White of Ft. Wayne, IN and Alaine (Rusty) White-Dunn of Greenville. His grandchildren Joshua (Carolyn) White, Aaron (Kara) White, Sarah White, Ruth White, Brent (Amy) White, Kristen (Jeremy) Long, Jason White, Darren (Danielle) White, Caylie (Kevin) Cappelli, Tsasha Steffen, Ben (Amber) Pugh, Craig (Melanie) Stewart, Corey (Jolene) Stewart, Clint (Ashley) Stewart, Abbie (Matt) Raffel, Kerry (Charlie) Seal, Karmon (Doug) Stewart, and Katie (Jesse) Nealeigh; 37 great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Jo Randall Portland, Indiana; brother, Doug (Nancy) White Mt. Vernon, Kentucky; sister-in-law, Della White Fairfield, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 10 AM Friday, June 1, 2018 at Lighthouse Christian Center, 5256 Sebring Warner Rd, Greenville, Ohio, 45331, with Pastors Herschel Fee and Eric Fee officiating. Burial will follow in Goshen Cemetery, Richmond, Indiana.

Family and friends may visit Thursday, from 5 PM to 8 PM at Tribute Funeral Homes, Greenville Campus, and one hour prior to the service on Fridayat the church.

A Lodge of Sorrow conducted by the Greenville Moose will be held at 7:45 PM on Thursday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, Dean’s family request that memorial contributions be made to State of the Heart Care, 1350 N. Broadway St., Greenville, Ohio, 45331 or the Darke County Cancer Association, 1111 Sweitzer St., Suite C, Greenville, Ohio 45331.
