Louis J. Huber
Louis J. Huber age 74, of Versailles passed away at 4:15 AM on Tuesday,
May 29, 2018, at Versailles Health Care Center.
Louis was born November 5, 1943, in North Star to the late Frank &
Hedwig (Schulze) Huber. In addition to his parents, Louis was also
preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jane (Hoelscher) Huber on May 11,
2018, whom he married November 26, 1966; siblings, Eleanor & Virgil
Schoenlein, Rita & Melvin Stammen, Norbert Huber, Dolores &
Lavern Rindler, Herbert & Dorothy Huber, Ruth & Carl Stammen,
Dorothy & Othor Barga and Frank Huber; brothers-in-law, Elmer
Siefring and Anthony Feltz; and sister-in-law, Susan A. Hoying.
Louis is survived by his daughter & son-in-law, Melinda & Eric
Barlage of Versailles, granddaughters, Morgan Barlage and Jada Barlage;
siblings, Paul & Barbara Huber of North Star, Mildred Siefring of
Coldwater and Elizabeth “Betty” Feltz of St. Henry; sister-in-law,
Diana Huber of New Weston; brother-in-law, Joseph Hoying of North
Carolina; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Louis retired from St. Denis Catholic Church in Versailles where he was
a maintenance engineer for 25 years. He formerly worked construction
for 15 years and was co-owner with his wife of C & J Café from
1978-1983. Louis was a member of St. Denis Catholic Church and
Versailles Eagles #2347. Louis was a member of the Versailles Fire
Department for 20 years retiring as a Lieutenant. He loved to golf with
Janie, family and friends at Stillwater Valley Golf Course and other
planned outings. Louis played baseball in the Western Ohio League for
Versailles and Osgood winning many team trophies and played softball
for Elson Ford and other teams.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, June
2, 2018, at St. Denis Catholic Church in Versailles with Rev. Fr. James
S. Duell celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Valbert Cemetery in
Versailles. The family will receive friends on Friday from 3:00 to 8:00
PM and Saturday morning from 9:00 to 10:00 AM at Bailey Zechar Funeral
Home in Versailles. Memorial contributions may be made to the
