Dorothy Irene (Rudy) Byrum, 95, of Greenville, passed away peacefully
on November 19, 2018 at the Village Green Health Campus in Greenville.
She was born on August 8, 1923 in Darke County, Ohio, to the late Amos
and Myrtle (Riffell) Rudy.
In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her
husbands; Joseph Grubb in 1977, Wallace Stump, Sr in 1992, and Robert
Byrum in 2013; her brothers, Raymond and Emerson Rudy, and sisters,
Mary Rismiller, Ruth Rudy, and Glenna Blore.
Dorothy graduated from Palestine High School in 1942. She was employed
at Fram for 37 years, where she was one of the first women working on
the assembly line. Dorothy was a faithful follower of Christ and a
member of the Greenville Missionary Church, where she served as
secretary of the board for several years. She enjoyed scrapbooking,
going for walks, cooking and enjoyed being in the company of family and
friends.
Dorothy is survived by her son, Greg (Darlene) Grubb of Greenville, and
her daughter; Cinda (Tom) Deeter of New Madison; four grandchildren:
Justin (September) Grubb, Joshua Deeter, Amy Deeter, and Corey (Amanda)
Deeter; two great-granddaughters, Elizabeth and Rebecca O’Connor; two
step-grandchildren; Michelle (Andy) Poeppelman and Thomas Shaw; and one
Step-Great Grandson, Spencer Poeppelman.
A celebration of Dorothy’s life will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday,
November 24, 2018 at Tribute Funeral Homes, Greenville Campus with
Pastor Gary Oser officiating. Burial will follow in Miami Memorial Park
in Covington, Ohio.
Dorothy’s family and friends may visit from 9:00 AM until the time of
service on Saturday at the funeral home.
