George “Dickie” Dickman, Jr.

George “Dickie” Dickman, Jr., 76, of Arcanum, Ohio, formerly of Wayne Lakes, Ohio, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 27, 2019, at State of the Heart Care Center in Greenville.

He was born on June 28, 1942, in Louisville, Kentucky to the late George and Doris (Robinson) Dickman.

In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by his wife, Linda (Wilder) Dickman, whom he married in April 1987; and his sister, Patty Dickman.

George loved life and all the people in his life. He was known as a funny man who inspired others to laugh and have a good time. He enjoyed pickin’ on and teasing others. George spent over 15 years working for Permacrete as a supervisor. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing in Wayne Lakes, where he liked to catch large mouth bass. When not holding his fishing poles, George could be found swinging his golf clubs at local golf courses. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle throughout the county and especially at local poker runs. George was a man of his faith and knew his Lord and Savior.

He is survived by his children and their spouses, Mike and Cindy Dickman of Arcanum, and Kelly and Kerry Ellison of Wayne Lakes; his grandchildren and their spouses, Ashley Marshall, Brittany and Daniel Bankert, and Lauren and Justin Brandenburg, all of Arcanum, and David Ellison and Megan Ellison, both of Wayne Lakes; his great-grandchildren, Payton, Colton, Bristol, Brody, Joey, and Olivia; and his brother, James Dickman of Louisville, Kentucky.

A celebration of George’s life with a full military service will take place at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at Greenville Grace Brethren Church, 4805 State Route 49, Greenville, Ohio 45331 with Pastor Danny Wright and the Greenville Honor Guard officiating.

Guests may visit with George’s family on Tuesday from 5:00 PM until the time of service at the church.
