Fagundes Arnett
Maria de Jesus Fagundes Arnett, 82, of Greenville, Ohio, went to be
with the Lord on Wednesday, November 13, 2019, at the State of the
Heart Care Center in Greenville.
She was born on January 23, 1937, in Terceira Islands, Azores,
Portugal, to the late Manuel Machado and Maria De Jesus (Teixeira)
Fagundes.
In addition to her parents, Maria was preceded in death by her
siblings, Manuel, Euclides, Osvaldo, Lidio, Epolito, Carmina, Setalina,
Francisco, Nair, Serilo, Valdemar, Julieta, and Natalina Fagundes,
Alberto Machado, Verina Silva, and Juraci Saude.
Maria was a faithful follower of Christ. She was a member of St. Mary’s
Catholic Church in Greenville and the Rosary Alter Society. She spent
many years volunteering at the local hospital and at St. Mary’s School.
Maria loved making sweetbread and giving it to her family and friends
to enjoy. In her free time, she enjoyed sewing, play her Portuguese
guitar and harmonica, and listening to all types of music.
Maria is survived by her children, Joseph Arnett and his wife,
Bernadette, of Katy, Texas, Falaeh Gerace and her husband, Michael, of
Greenville, Chris Arnett and his wife, Jenny, of Cincinnati, Ohio, and
Veronica Sutherland, of Greenville, Ohio; her grandchildren, Amber
Marker and her husband, Jordan, of Dublin, Ohio, Alexis
Arnett-Sutherland of Columbus, Ohio, Cody Sutherland of Washington
D.C., Aubree Sutherland of Greenville, Elizabeth Arnett of Cincinnati,
Jamie Cook and her husband, Joshua, of Greenville, Jennifer Akers, and
her husband, Jason, of Columbus, Ohio, and Annalyse, Josefina, and
Gabriel Arnett of Katy Texas; her great grandchildren, Declan and Crew
Marker, Brianna Gerace, Lilian Hutton, Emma Wagner, Andrew and Aiden
Lund, London, McKenna, and Everly Akers, Bryce Akers, and Kinsley,
Carter, and Melissa Cook; and her siblings, Joao Fagundes, Olga
Ladeira, Apolina Costa, and Camila Gomes.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:30 AM on Friday,
November 22, 2019, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greenville with
Father John R. White officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s
Cemetery.
Guests may visit with Maria’s family on Friday from 9:00 AM until 10:00
AM at Tribute Funeral Homes, Greenville Campus.
