Ruth Rachel
Shuttleworth
Ruth Rachel Shuttleworth, 92, of Greenville, Ohio, went to be with the
Lord on Tuesday, September 24, 2019, at State of the Heart Care Center
in Greenville.
She was born on March 11, 1927, in Fort Jefferson, Ohio, to the late
Leonard and Treva (Locke) Longfellow.
In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband,
Roscoe Ray Shuttleworth in 1970, whom she married on April 20, 1946;
her infant son, Michael Ray Shuttleworth; her brother, Floyd
Longfellow, and her sister, Delaphine Haines.
Ruth lived a long and fulfilling life. In her younger years, she had a
passion for art, painting, pastels, and home decorating. She enjoyed
buying and selling real estate, and loved to cook and bake. She worked
most of her life as a professional seamstress and could make almost
anything without the need for a pattern. As time moved on, she
gradually lost her eyesight and had been blind for the past 35 years.
Even though she had lost her sight, she did not lose her creativity and
love of art. She was exceptional at crocheting and had created
countless other works of art.
Faith played a major role in Ruth's life. She loved God and was devoted
to serving her Lord. She spent many hours on the phone ministering to
people through the Andrew Wommack Ministries. They would call her and
she would gladly share as much time as was needed to help.
Ruth is survived by her daughters, Roxanne Nally and her husband
Steven, of Westerville, Ohio, and ReNee Shuttleworth of Greenville; her
grandchildren, Weston Nally and his wife Dana of Tacoma, Washington,
and Rachel Nally of Westerville; and her brother, John W. Longfellow of
Greenville.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00PM on Saturday October 5, 2019
at Oak Grove Cemetery in Fort Jefferson, Ohio with Pastors Chris
Barhorst and Tracy Brown officiating.
in lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contribution be made
to Tribute Funeral Homes to help offset Ruth's final expenses.
Ruth's family has entrusted Tribute Funeral Homes with the final
