Bob Rhoades responds to Robinson’s Monday Opinion...
How do we fix the idiot at the park?
By Bob Rhoades
In Bob Robinson’s opinion on Monday he wrote about his time at Woodland
Heights and Susie Reigle. He wanted to know at the end, as he
always does, what our opinion was. People feel bad when good,
hometown people come here and then leave?
Krista Stump started it last year. The former Woodland Heights
Principal went to Ansonia for more money, less headaches, a new
building and support. Don’t know how many more there were, but TJ
Powers and Susie are just the latest. Why, really, why is this
happening? DUH!!!
Not six months ago both of these good people were the subject of
ridicule in the print and electronic media. They got blamed for
bad football teams, bad schools and bad everything else, and now it’s
too bad? Pretty obvious neither of them are idiots!
There is a problem here and it goes much deeper than these two
administrators. We have a bunch of people here who don’t get
it! Example: My son and others have been volunteering in the
park. A sign clearly says don’t ride bikes on the all-weather
track. A guy takes his kids with their bikes on to the
track. My son asks if he didn’t see the sign. His answer
was, ”yea I saw it, what of it, I pay taxes”.
That is the attitude that we are dealing with here. How many
other dimwits like him are there out there? How many good teachers and
administrators will we lose?
Probably at some point we better ask where are new people going to come
from and why would they come here? Yup, the school board has got
some problems which will probably eventually get fixed at the
polls. How do we fix the idiot in the park?
