Paint a picture of
America 50 years from now
By The Darke Knight
“There are 47 percent of the people who will vote for the president no
matter what,” Romney states. “All right, there are 47 percent who are
with him, who are dependent upon government, who believe that they are
victims, who believe the government has a responsibility to care for
them, who believe that they are entitled to healthcare, to food, to
housing, to you name it.”
Wow. Color me astonished. A “true” moment from a politician… even if it
was a private statement from a rich guy.
If I remember right, Editor Bob has said over half of us are dependent
on the government for one thing or another… in fact, he has said it
often.
The big question is does Romney include those on Social Security and
Medicare? Does E-Bob?
If they don’t, then the numbers come a helluva lot closer to what I’ve
been saying for years. Sixty percent? Two-thirds of our society?
Add in those who use tax breaks and loopholes (established by our
elected representatives) to amass increasingly greater financial power,
and you’ve added a whole new group of dependent constituents. It’s a
small group, but powerful.
Is it any wonder that our working middle class is becoming extinct?
How much dependency are we going to allow before we all wake up and
smell the roses, folks?
Look at two “entitlements” that we don’t think of the same way we do
welfare, food stamps and so on: Social Security and Medicare. Don’t
give me the crap that you paid for them. You earned them. They are
entitlements!!!
Do the math! Unless you expect to die early (like all you idiot smokers
and snack food fanatics out there), you will far outlive what you paid
into the system. Once the government has paid you back (plus interest
at the going rate), you are receiving an “entitlement.” That can (and
usually does) go on for years.
The point is, Romney was telling a small group of people what we all
know, or should know. We have spawned a nation of cattle!!
Not only are the Democrats making a huge campaign issue out of this
secret recording (how honest is that folks… now really!), even the
Republicans have gotten a little skittish over it. The media is having
a hay-day… I still hear about it on the news. I saw one ludicrous
interview with former GOP presidential candidate Sen. John McCain. It
was one of the most ridiculous “outtakes” I think I’d ever seen as he
hesitatingly, almost apologetically, said he was “sure” Romney will
work for “all Americans.”
The few “rich folks” who have used a “broken” system to get where they
are aside, we have half our nation on some form of dependency, more
than we’ve ever had in the history of our country. The current
administration has even bragged about it.
President Obama is doing exactly what he said he would do four years
ago when he told “Joe the Plumber” that he wanted to “spread the wealth
around a little.” I don’t blame him for that. That’s his agenda and he
was honest about it. About the only things he hasn’t accomplished are
those the Republican House stopped after 2010. Well, plus a few things
even his own party wouldn’t even let him do.
In some cases he said “screw you” to our Representatives, went around
Congress and got some of them done by presidential edict.
He isn’t doing a damn thing he didn’t tell us he would do!! And we
elected him! So does that make him bad? No! That makes us cattle or
stupid! Take your pick!
Romney (admittedly one of the “rich” guys) told the truth when he
talked about those who feel they are victims and will vote for the
president because we “owe” them. That’s a far cry from 50 years ago
when another Democrat said, “Ask not what your country can do for you;
rather what you can do for your country.”
Fifty years. If we don’t stop it now, paint yourself a picture of what
America will look like in another fifty years.
You can sit down and cry, or you can get off your butts and do
something about it. Get out there and vote for starters. Even more
important, you can take a little initiative (don’t panic, I said a
“little”) and tell others to get off their butts and vote.
If you don’t, that 47 percent will happily give themselves – and future
generations - another four years (or more) of dependency. At our
expense.
Have a nice day,
