Life with Levi
Lambie’s bad luck
By Amanda Rodeheffer-Olson
Assistant Editor
It happened.
The one thing that Mommy and Daddy had been dreading.
Levi puked on Lambie.
The most depressing thing was that Mommy was just getting ready to put
Lambie into the Lamb Protection Program and relocate him/her/it to a
safer location (like Mommy and Daddy’s closet).
But alas, Mommy was not quick enough.
It all started Friday evening when Mommy and Levi both started to show
symptoms of a cold. And when I say cold symptoms all I mean is
sneezing, runny noses and a cough. No nausea, no vomiting, just the
basic cold stuff.
So Lambie stayed around and Mommy really didn’t think much of it. It
seemed that the danger level was pretty low.
By the time Saturday evening rolled around, Levi was starting to get
better (or was at least doing a lot better than Mommy was. The cold was
kicking Mommy’s butt!). And Sunday was much of the same. Levi was
running around and acting just like a happy, healthy almost
two-year-old.
But Sunday night at bedtime is when things went wrong.
For some reason, Levi hasn’t wanted to go to bed lately. He whines, and
cries, but eventually goes to sleep. And Sunday night was pretty much
the same.
Except that he kept whining. And kept crying.
That’s when the coughing started.
And from there, it was all downhill.
He was cuddling with Lambie, and was almost calmed down when he coughed
a little too hard.
Lucky for Lambie, Levi had been drinking water most of the evening and
hadn’t eaten much for dinner.
Mommy took Lambie to the bathroom and rinsed him with water
immediately. The lamb wasn’t submerged, so hopefully he dries out
quickly and no long-term damage was done.
But the result is yet to be seen. Lambie is at the “Lamb Washing Farm”
(AKA the top of the dryer). He was still damp the last time I checked.
Things are looking good for Lambie, though. He smells normal so far… So
far being the key.
So Mommy is keeping her fingers crossed.
I really don’t wanna have to get a Lambie III!
