From
the Other Side of the Edge….
The
“Cry Baby”-in-Chief….
By Joe Facinoli
So,….he
finally lost one.
But
I guess that 158 to one, just ain’t quite good
enough for our President, now is it?
Of
the people, by the people, and for the people,….eh??
Not so fast there
“Constitution Lips”, that’s only if it’s HIS way, thank you very
much.
Yeah,
the Prez lost a big one last week, and man, is he ever a poor
loser!!
You’d
have thought that someone had gone and cut up all his
favorite blue ties, bent all his Calloway golf clubs in half, and made
him eat
extra helpings of his non-cooking wife’s spinach and beets, because he
hadn’t
taken the trash out on the right day, for all the cryin’ and whinin’,
and
finger pointin’ and such, all goin’ on in the Rose Garden the other day
!!
Wow! And I thought
little
kids complainin’, cuz they didn’t get what they wanted for their
birthdays,
were ungrateful and aggravating !!
Man!
And
he had lots of help, too.
There was the trusted V.P., the point man on
the failed Gun Control
legislation in question (that was a bright choice).
And
all the major Democrat players from Congress, all pushin’ and
shovin’ to be in the right place in the video footage of this cry fest,
and
fightin’ to be sure they had the biggest frown, and most mournful look
of
consternation.
As
well as the now sad and familiar lineup of recent shooting
victims, and the parents of same.
That
really pushes all limits of incredulity, every time, but here, it’s
just
obscene the way he uses them.
So,
how does a dose of reality feel, Mr. President?? THIS
is what the majority of Americans feels
like, every single day, Mr. President! How’s this one
going down??
Not
that we, he, nor anyone would actually know about this
majority, given the extended White House press rooms over at CNN, ABC,
CBS, etc,
etc, et al. Nor
from any of the
hundreds of polls taken every day (you ever been called for one of
these?....me
neither), and then used for whatever purpose of the moment, that comes
a-callin’.
The
President used phrases like:
“90% of Americans” supported this “compromise
legislation” on guns, and
that “moderation” should be the best course of action on this divisive
national
topic.
He
also talked about the “common sense values” of this proposed
law, and that this bill represented significant “progress” towards a
“common
sense” (he likes that one) solution to the terrible, terrible gun
problem in
this country.
Not
mentioning, of course, in all those serious words, that teeny
little thing, ….called a lack of Constitutionality.
He
was pulling out all the stops, too, and pointing those fingers
at whomever had dared to cross him on this one.
Even as his many bitter untruths, along with
the venomous nature of those well-worn words and phrases, slowly began
to wilt
those lovely red roses and yellow daffodils, so prominent and
plentiful, right
there in the nation’s most famous garden.
And
threatening all manner of carnage, he was, on the re-election
bids of those opposing him on this, and saying it all with the meanest,
most
disgusted face he could muster, putting to the test all of his best
acting
skills, which for him, are considerable.
But
the word that he used, that set me off the most, and was at
once the most ridiculous, was when he looked out over his stunned and
melancholy
mass of supporters (and also the folks in that crowd who were not from
the
press, as well), and said:
“This was a
pretty shameful day in Washington”.
“Shameful”
???!!!!!??
Talk
about the Pot calling the Kettle…..well….something.
(political
correctness does not allow the finishing of that old
saying anymore, and I sure don’t want anyone using that card on me. Where’s Doc Ben Carson
when you need him!??).
Is
it simply too much to ask, if he’s been paying any attentionfor
the last four years, or so?
Yeah,
probably. So,
let me help out a little
here, with some perspective, and a bit of my own “common sense”.
What
YOU have done to Washington, and to this country, Mr.
President, and to the rights and lives of ordinary citizens everywhere,
throughout every corner of our once great Land, and within every group,
ethnicity, and culture found here,………THAT…is what is “Shameful”, Mr. President.
And
another phrase shot right to the nerve endings, too.
He lashed out at the “….Intense Minority of
gun owners”.
What
are you accusing us of, Mr. President??
Just what, and who, do you think we
are? And what
intentions do you think we
harbor??? As
a group, OR individually??
You
have no idea, sir, just how many voting Americans make up that
“intense minority”. So
don’t overplay
your hand,….again. We’ve
seen what that
gets you.
We
are not at odds with anyone.
We just want our government to honor and
respect our Constitutional
rights. Those
were not given, nor
granted to us, by the way, by anyone, nor anything.
But have ALWAYS been there, since the
beginning of time, and of man.
Even
before the IRS did their first audit.
What
has happened to a several dozen, or maybe hundreds, of innocent
victims, and to several thousand affected by these tragic events of
recent days
and years, should only motivate those in positions of power, to do a
better job
with the more than sufficient tools they have been given to slow down
all of this
nonsense, if not stop it entirely.
Use
the current laws already on the books,
only this time, try something new:
enforce them!
These
events should never be seen as opportunities to take away
even more rights from the people, and to accuse them of being, or
doing,
something which is wholly legal, Constitutional,…..and right. But
that’s what’s happening.
T.J.
once said: “Every
difference of opinion, is not a difference in principle.”
We
ALL want our kids to be safe.
We ALL want to be able to move about, and to
live our lives without
worry nor concern for our personal safety.
But
being more restrictive, and limiting those same rights, which
were designed to insure that safety, is not the answer.
And then centralizing power within the federal
government, while allowing criminals and law breakers to virtually do
as they
please, with a weakened, exposed, and unarmed American public, goes in
exactly
the opposite direction of achieving the goals which we ALL seek.
Sit
Down, Mr. President. Whining
doesn’t become you.
Understand that the true power of the people is stronger, and more
real, than
any false and self-serving ideology that you want so desperately to
shove down
our throats.
Soak this in, Mr. President.
Get used
to this feeling.
It
won’t be the last time you have the pleasure.
