Life with Levi
Smarty diaper
By Amanda Rodeheffer-Olson

It’s official.
Levi is too smart for his own good.
As long as he’s been mobile, he has been curious about everything
around him. He loves messing with things, trying to figure out how they
work.
And he loves trying new things to see if they work.
Last week, Levi figured out that bologna sticks to things. It sticks to
his highchair that he eats in. It sticks to the VCR.
And it sticks to the wall.
It sticks so well, in fact, that if you wanted to, you could eat it off
the wall!
Which Levi did. Daddy took pictures. Mommy cringed and asked Daddy if
he wiped the bologna slime off the wall.
On the cleaner side of things, he has figured out from watching Mommy
that when there is a stone on the floor, or if you have a piece of
trash, to throw it away in the trash can.
He even figured out once how to get behind the endtable and sit behind
it like a desk.
He got stuck doing that. He learned that he doesn’t want to do that
again.
Levi also likes to help Mommy pick out her socks. He even knows
exactly which drawer it is. But he hasn’t learned how to pick out two
socks without pulling them all out of the drawer.
He’s also figured out that our footstool opens up and that his stuffed
animals are hidden inside. Not sure how he figured out that it opens
because we’ve gone to great lengths to keep that secret.
In addition to opening it, he can now flip it over.
Joy.
The kid even knows how to send text messages on Mommy and Daddy’s
phones. And that’s after he’s unlocked the keypad.
It’s really scary how much he’s figured out on his own. And that he
really doesn’t need Daddy’s help to get into trouble.
He’s already trying to open doors and the refrigerator. He’s just not
strong enough yet. Thank goodness!
Because once he starts opening the refrigerator, there will probably be
bologna stuck to every surface in our house.
