Life with Levi
Levi’s big day

It’s official… My baby is a two-year-old. And Mom-Mom and Daddy made sure that his birthday was special.

Before Levi was born, Aaron and I made the decision that no matter what, we would always spend Levi’s birthday together and do things as a family. Last year, we took Levi to the park. This year we decided to take him to the Newport Aquarium since he loves our aquarium and he gets a kick out of looking at the fish at Wal-Mart.

So we left around 9 on Thursday morning with Levi in the backseat, saying, “Ishy! Ishy!” (Which translates to “Fishy! Fishy!”) After making a couple of stops, one at Bob Evan’s for breakfast and another at Hansbarger’s to visit Grandma Yvonne, we were on our way.

Our hope was that Levi would nap on the way down so that he wouldn’t be cranky once we arrived.  But Levi had other ideas. He babbled and vroomed all the way through Dayton, and finally passed out for the last 45 minutes of the drive.

Once we got to the aquarium, Levi couldn’t get enough of the ‘ishies’. At each new tank, he would point from fish to fish, getting more excited as we went.

And then, somewhere around the Frog Bog, Levi got cranky.

REALLY cranky.

From there, Levi didn’t care about fish. All he wanted to do was run around and do his own thing. Though he did seem to enjoy the penguin exhibit.

The only thing that he really paid much attention to was the gift shop. He loooooooved the gift shop! I think if he could have, he’d rather have spent the whole day there!

After purchasing a stuffed sea turtle, a t-shirt and a penguin cup, Levi was sent to go.  He was happy as a clam on the way to the car.

On the way home, he barely made it out into Ohio before he fell asleep.

Lambie under one arm, his new turtle under the other.
