From the Other
Side of the
Edge…..
Deeds,…..not Words,
Make
Things Happen
By Joe Facinoli
Saying that
it’s
so,…..doesn’t make it so,…..Mr. President.
Telling
us that you’re the King,…..does not make you a King.
Acting like,
and making
yourself sound like a boss,…..does not give you the authority to be
the boss.
Especially when
the
Constitution says that you’re not, …..or at least that you have a
couple of other bosses, of EQUAL authority, within your
“organization”.
And Playing God,…..does not anoint you
as a deity (try as you might).
When the Emptiest of all the
empty suits in the store, actually tries to step off the rack, all by
himself, and attempts to exert the influence he keeps telling us that
he has, loudly and interminably, ….he is quickly exposed for the
inexperienced, condescending, childish fraud that he hates himself
for being.
And all of his
best
efforts, to cover up his petulant and unprincipled nonsense, always
fail miserably,….every single time.
Something about
“putting
lipstick on a pig”, comes to mind right now.
I witnessed,
and listened to, a Presidential “press conference” last Tuesday,
like none other I’ve seen or heard, in my lifetime.
While it was
frustrating to
watch, and often infuriating, it hurt all the more, deep in the gut,
realizing that this poor, clueless, yet arrogant man, ….was our
President.
And we elected
him Twice
!!!!
He was so out
of his depth,
which is the shallowest end of any pool, as he endeavoured time after
time, and sentence after never ending sentence, to convince us that
he was right, and completely on point, and that we,…..sorry, he
would tell us, …but we were just completely dead wrong.
And not only
were we
absolutely incorrect, in any of our thinking, but why in the hell, he
made it clear, did he have to keep explaining this to all of us
??!!!???
He was very
perturbed with
us.
A few weeks ago, I wrote a piece called: “The
Smallness of the Presidency, ….Now.”
In it, I opined
that this
President had taken the office in which he sits, and the one we all
hold onto so dearly, to its lowest point in decades, and maybe ever.
Lower than
Jimmy Carter,
more inept than Herbert Hoover, and on down into the nadir of the
worst the 1800s had to offer (and there were many, back then).
But I had no
idea how right
I was. Or wrong, depending on perspective.
When someone
surpasses, and then far exceeds your lowest expectations of them, and
then outstrips, by miles, your worst fears for what damages they may
cause, overtly, or just by standing there, breathing in the fresh air
which they quickly turn rancid, does that make them a raving success
(because they surely must have done all of this on purpose), or the
most colossal failure one has ever had to live through ???
And just where
will the
“lowest point” actually be set by this administration, this
group, assembled by this President ?
Why would he
spend nearly
an hour, crying and whining and babbling on and on about a situation
that HE has created and perpetuates, if he were serious about being
President ??
And calling his
opponents
petty, cutesy little vicious names, like an 8 year old girl, who
isn’t getting enough attention at her best friend’s birthday
party.
He, ….is the President of the United States.
He, ….should
remain above
the fray, and lead us out of the fray.
But instead,
….he creates
the fray, and most of the time,….he is the fray !
LEAD US
!!! Don’t keep arguing endlessly, that somebody won’t give you
everything you want, and telling them (and us) that until they do,
you’re not talking to them anymore. Na na a na! So there!!
So small, so
non-functional, and so valueless. So un-Presidential, and so
clueless as to why it is, and what to do to be Presidential. Sad. And
dangerous.
Just what does
this man
bring to the American table ?
European style
socialism? With its giveaways and non-incentive programs, already
proven to be
so unsuccessful, and counter to progress?
Or third world
economic
philosophies? Which take from the producers, and give to the
unproductive, and to the government (sorry, that’s redundant), and
which has already been proven to be so inept, and counter to growth
and prosperity ?
For one so glib
and
articulate (at least with prepared remarks, the other occasions get
pret-ty ugly, …and boring), he demonstrates an amazingly weak,
lacking, and ineffective ability to connect, with anyone who
possesses even a modicum of common sense, or actual intelligence.
In other words,
it’s
tough to b.s. someone who’s wearing 3-D glasses, and who’s read
your book, and seen your movie.
You sold your
stuff well,
BHO, and it seems, too well.
Now it’s
Showtime, and
time to shut up, and put up. Words might get you in the door, but
the vacuum cleaner actually has to work, and the soap has to actually
clean the dishes, or get the spots off the wall.
You’re
The President, Barack Obama, Lead Us !!
DEEDS !! Not
words!
Do Something !!
And if it
doesn’t
work,….then do something else! Lead !! You are The President
!!
Your speeches
and promises
have grown so old now. There needs to be some there,….there. We’re
waiting, and our patience is all but done.
We got past the
incessant
blaming of others, and constant pointing of accusatory fingers at
anyone who isn’t perfectly in line with your agenda, about twenty
minutes after you took the Oath of Office, ….the first time.
That’s all over
now. Do
something for the people, and forget about all the partisan crap.
The President, of course, is not the only guilty one here. Both major
parties, and all their leaders, share in this shameless
process which ignores the wishes and well-being of the American
public, in favor of “business as usual” in DC, which keeps
everyone there in their jobs, in perpetuity.
Scoring
political points,
first, last, and always, instead of doing right by “We the People”,
regardless of political affiliation, is a way of life that has to
stop.
Winning these
small, even
irrelevant political victories, for “Our Team”, at the expense of
“Doing the Right Things”, with careful consideration for ALL of
the people, not just the ones who donate big, or who vote for you no
matter what, just has to come to an end.
The President is
the only one with enough perceived power, to make things happen. And no
one else.
But only if he
does
something with it.
It’s not
absolute, but
the public’s impression of that power is such that he can use it in
astute and amazing ways, to make good things happen.
And because of
that
perception, …when he uses that power in a bad, selfish, and/or
petty partisan manner, it puts him on an island, …with no one else.
We’ve seen enough of the bad, to last for decades. Let’s get to the
good stuff,….or it will soon be time for option
number three.
And oh yeah, ….there really isn’t an
option number three.
At least not
for the next
three years.
