Life with Levi...
Rest in peace, Mickey

There has been a death in the family.
Luckily, it wasn’t anyone I was emotionally attached to.
Back in July, I made mention of my brand new computer mouse, which Levi
decided to name Mickey Mouse.
Sadly, after two short months, Mickey Mouse is no longer with us.
Evidently, if you dump water on a computer mouse, it won’t work
anymore. Or at least that’s what Levi and I discovered.
I’ve also discovered that sippee cups that say they are spill-proof
and/or leak-proof are in fact not.
It was a regular evening. Dinner was over. Mommy was working on CNO.
Levi was playing. Mickey Mouse was doing his thing… helping Mommy.
In a fit of giggles, Levi runs up to the sofa where Mommy and Mickey
were working, and throws down his leak-proof sippee cup.
Water goes everywhere.
All over the sofa, all over Mommy’s hand…
And all over Mickey Mouse.
I immediately rushed poor Mickey to the kitchen, and wiped him off with
a dish towel.
Then I turned him sideways… and water just poured out.
So I wrapped Mickey in the towel and tipped him over and poured him out
until there wasn’t so much as a drip.
Back at the computer, Mickey worked fine for a couple of minutes. Until
I tried to right-click.
Nothing.
Then a couple more minutes later, it was over. Mickey Mouse had passed.
He still sits nearby, in hopes that he will dry out and work once more.
But alas, not yet.
After a day of mourning, Levi and I went back to Staples and bought
Mickey Mouse’s replacement….
Minnie Mouse!
She’s purple, and is a newer model than poor old Mickey.
In addition to Minnie Mouse, Mommy made another purchase while at
Staples with Levi.
Mommy bought the $6 two-year extended warranty plan.
