Attorneys Endorse DeWine For Re-Election
COLUMBUS - Today, Attorney General Mike DeWine’s campaign announced the
endorsement of all 10 Prosecuting Attorneys in central Ohio.
Prosecutors from Delaware, Fairfield, Franklin, Knox, Licking, Madison,
Marion, Morrow, Pickaway, and Union Counties praised DeWine’s
accomplishments as attorney general, recognizing the work he’s done
with them prosecuting rapists, scammers who target the elderly, and
drug dealers.
“I’m honored to receive the endorsement of all ten of these outstanding
Prosecuting Attorneys,” said Attorney General Mike DeWine. “Over my
first term as attorney general, I have worked closely with each of
these men and women to protect Ohio families. These prosecutors know
firsthand the importance of having a partner in the Attorney General’s
office with law enforcement experience and who has a strong history of
supporting their efforts to keep Ohioans safe.”
Pickaway County Prosecutor Judy Wolford said, “[Mike DeWine] and his
office have worked hand-in-hand with law enforcement in Pickaway County
to crack down on con-artists and put several criminals who were
victimizing elderly residents in prison. There is no elected official
in our state who has done more to protect Ohio families than Mike
DeWine, and I enthusiastically endorse him for re-election.”
Morrow County Prosecutor Charles Howland added, “In thirty years of
criminal prosecution, I have seen many attorney generals come and go,”
Howland said. “Mike DeWine is the most dedicated, knowledgeable,
hardworking Attorney General in recent memory. We are all safer because
we have Mike DeWine as our Attorney General…”
Marion County Prosecutor Brent Yager explained his support: “From
breaking up on drug rings, to cracking down on sexual predators and
scam artists that prey on our elderly residents, the job Mike DeWine is
doing as our Attorney General is nothing short of outstanding," Yager
said. “We are fortunate to have such a strong leader and partner as
Attorney General Mike DeWine, and I am very pleased to endorse him for
re-election.”

Delaware County Prosecuting Attorney Carol O’Brien
“As both a Prosecuting Attorney and military mother, I am thankful
every day for the great partner and strong leader local Ohio law
enforcement has in Attorney General Mike DeWine. Mike has reduced the
average time it takes for the state’s crime labs to return DNA evidence
to law enforcement from over 125 days when he took office to only 22
today, which allows law enforcement to identify and arrest suspected
criminals quicker. And Mike is an exceptional advocate for our veterans
and men and women in uniform, having launched initiatives to provide
free legal services to active-duty military families and lobbying for
harsh penalties for criminals who target active duty soldiers. Ohio is
a safer and better place because of Mike DeWine, and I wholeheartedly
endorse him for re-election as our Attorney General.”
Fairfield County Prosecuting Attorney Gregg Marx
“Mike DeWine has made protecting Ohio families his top priority as
Attorney General, and he has achieved remarkable results. Mike has been
a tremendous asset to law enforcement in Fairfield County,
collaborating on the prosecution of numerous scam artists who targeted
senior citizens and working with us to shut down a multi-million dollar
drug operation. Mike DeWine has been an outstanding public servant to
Ohioans for many years, but the job he’s doing as our Attorney General
is perhaps his best work. I wholeheartedly endorse his campaign for
re-election.”
Franklin County Prosecuting Attorney Ron O’Brien
“I have had the privilege of serving as Franklin County’s Prosecuting
Attorney for more than 18 years, and have had the opportunity to work
alongside numerous Ohio Attorneys General, including the last three and
a half years with Mike DeWine. Through his Sexual Assault Kit
Initiative, Mike has partnered with Franklin County to help get rapists
off the streets and bring closure to sexual assault victims. Mike’s
drastic improvements at BCI have helped us to identify criminals in a
fraction of the time it used to take, allowing us to make Franklin
County streets safer. And Mike’s Elder Abuse Initiative will help us
identify scam artists and other individuals who prey on the elderly.
Quite simply, Mike DeWine is the most effective Ohio Attorney General I
have ever worked with, and I that is why I strongly support him for
re-election.”
Knox County Prosecuting Attorney Charles McConville
“As the Prosecuting Attorney for Knox County, I know that I have a
strong partner in Attorney General Mike DeWine. The resources he
provides from the Attorney General's office help me do a better job and
make Knox County families safer. Mike has cracked down on drug dealers
and predators who target our children, has launched the most successful
initiative in Ohio history to identify and prosecute rapists, and has
targeted scam artists that prey on our senior citizens. Mike DeWine is
a hard-working, effective Attorney General and that is why I strongly
endorse him for re-election.”
Licking County Prosecuting Attorney Kenneth Oswalt

enforcement in Licking County and provided us with critical resources

Madison County Prosecuting Attorney Stephen Pronai
“Mike DeWine has been the best, most effective Ohio Attorney General
since I’ve been in office. He has more than made good on his pledge to
reform BCI by reducing the turnaround time on DNA evidence from over
125 days when he took office to only 22 today – and he can even turn
evidence around in 24 hours for emergencies. I endorse Attorney General
DeWine for re-election because his leadership has made Madison County a
safer place to live, work, and raise a family.”
Marion County Prosecuting Attorney Brent Yager
“It’s no secret that Ohio is in the midst of a heroin epidemic, and
when that epidemic hit Marion County, I asked Attorney General Mike
DeWine to assist us. Mike used the power of the Attorney General’s
Office to assemble a taskforce to tackle the problem. With his help,
more than 60 individuals associated with heroin distribution in Marion
have been indicted. From breaking up on drug rings, to cracking down on
sexual predators and scam artists that prey on our elderly residents,
the job Mike DeWine is doing as our Attorney General is nothing short
of outstanding. We are fortunate to have such a strong leader and
partner as Attorney General Mike DeWine, and I am very pleased to

Morrow County Prosecuting Attorney Charles Howland

by improving the state’s crime lab, cracking down on scam artists that
target seniors, and launching a very successful initiative to identify
and prosecute cold rape cases. Here the benefit is two-fold: old cases
are solved and hopefully, new offenses are prevented. Mike started his
career as the Prosecuting Attorney for Greene County, Ohio. Thus, he
understands the need for quick results on forensic evidence. In thirty

residents in prison. Those efforts and his dedication to ending
human trafficking and getting tough on child abuse have made Pickaway
County and the rest of Ohio safer. There is no elected official in our
state who has done more to protect Ohio families than Mike DeWine, and
I enthusiastically endorse him for re-election.”
Union County Prosecuting Attorney David Phillips
“In order to keep Union County families as safe as possible, it is
critical that we have a strong partner in the Attorney General’s office
– and that’s exactly what we have in Mike DeWine. Mike has made it his
mission to protection Ohio families. His reforms to the state’s
crime lab, his Sexual Assault Kit initiative, and strong focus on
bringing child predators and scam artists to justice have all given
local law enforcement officials like me the additional tools we need to
