U.S.
Representative John Boehner
House
Passage of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act
WASHINGTON,
DC – Congressman John Boehner (R-West Chester) released the
following statement today applauding House passage of the Workforce
Innovation and Opportunity Act (H.R. 803):
“Americans
struggling to find work face many challenges, and House Republicans
are focused on helping them succeed by strengthening our economy and
growing good-paying jobs. More than a year ago, the House passed
legislation that would improve and streamline job training programs
so that those who are out of work can get the skills they need to
earn a steady paycheck and get back on their feet. I applaud the
House for moving this bipartisan agreement forward today. While I’m
pleased that Senate Democrats finally acted on this measure – which
eliminates 15 duplicative programs and empowers states to innovate –
I hope they will turn their attention to the dozens of other
House-passed jobs bills that could make a real difference for
middle-class families.”
NOTE:
As Congressman Boehner has highlighted in the past, workforce
development reform is just one of the many Republican economic
solutions that are already working in states like Ohio – and
Democrats in Washington should take note.
