Ohio
Republican Party
On
to
November!
Greetings!
Last
night was a very good night for Republicans in Ohio. Ohio voters
overwhelmingly supported candidates who embraced the principles of
the Republican Party that bring us together - less government, lower
taxes, creating jobs, defending constitutional rights, and fighting
Obamacare.
Congressman
Dave Joyce comfortably won a race that the entire nation was
watching. Speaker Boehner won by an overwhelming margin, despite the
media's best efforts to create a competitive race. State Senator
Frank LaRose won by nearly 25 points and Senator Shannon Jones won by
nearly 40 points. State Representatives Barbara Sears and Stephanie
Kunze both won by nearly 20 points each. The lesson is that
Republican voters are united in supporting our candidates and our
common-sense conservative principles.
Our
statewide candidates also displayed impressive results. Every single
Republican statewide officeholder received well over 100,000 more
votes than their Democratic opponent. Governor Kasich received
192,000 more votes than Democrat Ed FitzGerald. When you combine both
Democrat candidates together, the Governor out-polled them by 119,000
votes or 21.5%. 1974 was the last time there was a similar
percentage margin of a gubernatorial candidate against the opposition
party.
There
is still a lot of work left to do between now and November, but if we
work hard and continue working together our message and our
candidates will prevail.
On to
November!
