Thanks for
voting!

I would like to thank the people of Darke County for turning out to
vote on Nov. 4th. Voting is one of our most precious rights, and
we as citizens need to express our opinion whenever we get the
chance. I do not understand why anyone would not get out and vote
nowadays, since it is so easy, and you can basically do it at your
convenience. I could give the speech about how people died for
this privilege, how the forefathers granted this right to us, etc. but
you have all heard it by now a hundred times. If you don’t vote,
don’t complain, it really is that simple. You have not
participated in the process that puts people in elected positions that
affect your life. Why? The simple act of voting allows you
to choose who will affect your family for the next few years. It
is a privilege few others have. All of those who are 18 and voted
for the first time this year, thank you. Continue to vote for the
rest of your life, and maybe your generation can make more positive
changes. That is the only way it will happen, by getting
involved. Next time, get out and vote, make a difference, and let
your voice be heard. Yes, it is that important.
I would like to thank those who participated, and those who voted for
me, even though I was unopposed. Your vote was important to
me. It lets me know that you care about what I am doing. It
also shows me that you are paying attention to what I am doing.
Thank You. I promised four years ago to watch your money, help
the county grow economically, and fix things that needed fixing.
I promise to continue that for the next four years. I also
promised to be accessible and to let the people of the county know what
we are doing. I will continue that, too. I will represent
the County in a positive light, and promote us whenever I can. I
do want to make things better for all of us. Once again, I would
like to Thank all who voted, whether for me or not, and Thank You for
your vote of confidence in me, and for our system of government.
