Ohio Republican Party
Portman works for Senate control

Today is the last day to register to vote in Ohio and early voting starts tomorrow!  As we fight to keep Ohio's comeback going, I wanted to make sure you knew about Senator Portman's efforts, not only in Ohio, but to take back the United States Senate.  Republicans have our best chance in a long time to take back the Senate and begin implementing reforms like we've seen in Ohio at the federal level. When we take back the Senate, Senator Portman will be a major reason why.  He's the Vice-Chairman for Finance for the National Republican Senatorial Committee, the political committee dedicated to regaining control of the Senate.  Senator Portman has been traveling all over the country campaigning and raising money for Republicans to win the Senate.

This week Senator Portman traveled to Iowa to help support Joni Ernst's campaign for the U.S. Senate.  Read about his visit in the Des Moines Register.

Senator Portman is also working hard to make sure we win here in Ohio.  He joined Governor John Kasich at Get Out the Vote rallies at the Golden Lamb Inn in Lebanon on Friday and at All Erection & Crane Rental in Cleveland with Governor Chris Christie on Monday.

Senator Portman has done all this work while continuing to work for all Ohioans in his role as Senator.  He celebrated National Manufacturing Day by visiting Harris Products Group, a Lincoln Electric subsidiary in Mason.  After touring the manufacturing facility, he held a town hall meeting with the 200 Harris employees, discussing tax reform, energy policy, and the current dysfunction in Washington.

Earlier in the week, Portman appeared on CNN to continue to push the Obama Administration to improve efforts to address the Ebola crisis. Portman continued his call for the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) to direct Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to enact active screenings of passengers entering the United States. Portman has also been pushing the Administration to appoint one official to quarterback the U.S. response.
