Ohio Means Jobs
for Everyone
No matter whether you are a student, a veteran, or simply looking for
new career ideas, Ohio has a great resource to help everyone with their
next move. Ohio’s employment and resource website, OhioMeansJobs.com,
is a one-stop shop to connect Ohioans with resources, tools and
employers. This website is available to any Ohioan, for free, to upload
resumes, create a profile, or simply search for jobs in the area.
For Ohio's students, OhioMeansJobs.com is a career exploration
resource. The website provides tools to help match students to
career-readiness opportunities. There are links available to help
students choose which classes to take in preparation for their desired
profession. Other resources connect students with compatible career
options, technical training opportunities, or college and university
options and even provide suggestions on how to budget for and finance
their higher or technical education. In Ohio, over 70,000 students in
elementary, middle and high schools have already visited the website to
explore career aspirations and opportunities, see which jobs are
available near them in a career they are interested in, as well as
provide educational requirements and career planning tips.
For veterans, OhioMeansJobs.com created a one-stop portal to offer
benefits designed for those in the military and their families. In
Ohio, your service may be worth more than you think. Specific training
and experiences give veterans an edge in many career options, or may be
counted as prerequisites for those who want to further their education.
The website provides a variety of tools including a military skills
translator for Ohio, career resources and benefits, military occupation
searches and how to use skills for college credit.
All Ohioans have free access to the OhioMeansJobs.com website to
explore in-demand careers, employment programs, and even calculate a
budget. Just visit the website and click on the “Individual” button to
open up the world of possibilities. Potential employees can work on a
career profile or upload their resume for employers to see.
OhioMeansJobs.com is also hosting a free career fair at Sinclair
Community College on June 26 from 1 to 6 p.m. in downtown Dayton.
If you are interested in learning more about potential employment
opportunities, thinking about a career change, or planning for your
future, I encourage you to go to OhioMeansJobs.com and explore options.
A new career and better future may be just a few clicks away.
