U.S. Representative John Boehner
Stories From
Ohio Continue to Show Need For ObamaCare Repeal
WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman John Boehner (R-West Chester) issued the
following statement after the House passed H.R. 596, which would fully
repeal ObamaCare:
“I recently received a note from Annemarie, a small business owner in
West Chester, Ohio, whose premiums have gone up by 26 percent in the
last year under ObamaCare. ‘I have always been very responsible
with my money,’ she says, but ‘I do not have the money to afford’ this.
Before the State of the Union, I met with Jamey, a nurse practitioner
in Piqua, Ohio, whose premiums are going up by 35 percent. ‘As
things stand right now,’ she says, ‘I don’t know how we are going to
remain financially solvent.’
“Sadly – and unacceptably – stories from hardworking Ohioans like
Annemarie and Jamey are too common. The American people
oppose ObamaCare because it is hurting jobs, hurting family budgets,
and hurting small businesses. We are listening, and we are
committed to repealing ObamaCare so we can replace it with
patient-centered reforms that lower costs and protect jobs.”
NOTE: Speaker Boehner and Republican members of the Ohio congressional
delegation have released a series of stories from constituents hurting
under ObamaCare.
