From the Other Side of the Edge…..
Down 4 TDs in
Fourth Quarter, …Obama Spikes the Ball Anyway
By Joe Facinoli
With his team down something like 42-7, midway through the 4th quarter,
Barack Obama (struggling QB for the losing team) knew he had to pull
something special out of his hat, …and fast.
So, he threw all caution to the wind, along with all reason, truth, and
propriety, and concocted a play, just for that moment, which made rules
appear as mere suggestions, and distraction from reality the order of
the day.
The President of the Democrat/Liberal/Progressive team, in the face of
any larger team, which they were supposed to be representing, called
for a bit of trickery that left almost all who witnessed it thoroughly
disgusted, and certainly, more than a little embarrassed.
For him, maybe, …but for the “larger” team, definitely.
In last week’s State of the Union address before Congress, this year’s
big moment of American politics, Obama redefined recent history, as
well as his own accomplishments during the rest of his “big game”
tenure, in a way that made reality, …well,
…unrecognizable.
It was the football equivalent of having several players moving all at
once, before the ball was snapped, and then sending a player who
quickly came off the bench on an end around play, who then ran five
yards downfield before making a slow, lob toss to a 12th player, a
lineman who had sneaked even further downfield too early, and who had
stayed hidden over next to the sidelines during most of the play (also
having changed into a referee’s jersey first, for more deception),
before making the big catch for a meaningless, 80 yard
touchdown.
All of this being very unethical, of course (and in football, all quite
illegal), according to the accepted rules of the
game. But not for a desperate quarterback, …and
especially not for a delusional, failed President, with nothing more to
lose.
And then, the wannabe QB/Prez ran all the way down the field to the
endzone, grabbed the ball from his more deserving (but illegal)
teammate, and spiked it with a fury and conviction that would suggest
he had just won it all, in the most glorious of ways, and
fashions.
He hadn’t.
But that didn’t stop him from telling everyone how wonderful he was,
and how he had worked long and hard, during late night planning
sessions, to develop this great play, …and how he had implemented all
phases of it, as if there were no other players on the field, other
than his own, amazing Commander-in-Chief-ness.
And it was amazing, …this story he told us last week.
All crises, everywhere, were now over, fixed, mended, and better than
ever before, …like they had never happened.
The economy is now booming, and there are plenty of jobs to be had,
thanks exclusively to him, and his well thought out and perceptive,
financial incentives and policies.
Really?? That’s so good, …I think.
But I must have been on vacation, and missed that (…p.s. I haven’t
taken one, in many years).
The immigration problem has been fixed, thanks to his insightful
approaches and strategies (and blanket amnesties), on this complicated
issue.
And those aren’t thousands of illegals, still streaming across the
border in Texas and Arizona, …either. Get your eyes
checked, will ya !!
Everyone now has healthcare in this country, too.
Hallelujah, …at long last.
And it’s affordable for all, except for those for which it isn’t, and
they are just ungrateful, to this courageous leader who thought up
having others pay more, for less service, so that people who were never
going to buy it, nor pay for it anyway, could now have
it.
Brilliant. Or should I say, …diabolical, sad,
and/or maddening. You choose.
And the War on Terror has now been won.
You hadn’t noticed? Well yes. ISIS
is now on the run (except in Yemen, …and oh yeah, …in Iraq, Syria,
Libya, and a few other places), and our clean and antiseptic bombings
and drone missions have them cowering in caves, and behind scrub
bushes.
No, it’s true, …just ask him.
Well right, …except in France. And in Germany, and London,
and Belgium, and even in the U.S., but now I’m just nit-picking, and
not really being fair to so many “non-radical” Muslims (a rose, by any
other name), whom our sensitive and caring President feels so badly
for.
And did you notice? A combination of the President’s
intuitive economic and international policies, have brought oil prices
down to levels not seen in almost ten years, and our lower gasoline
prices have allowed the nation’s economy to flourish even
more.
Yes he did, …he sure did. Nothing to do with OPEC,
nor King Abdullah. All him, just for
us.
For this “One People”, which he feels so deeply for, from his kind and
tender heart. This America, which he loves so much,
and fights so hard for, …to preserve and protect.
And on and on.
Accomplishment after accomplishment. Glory piled upon
glory. New social welfare programs, on top of more
social handouts, …all with enthusiastic gloating, and taking of credit
(even before they happen), …and all paid for from our
pockets.
Just listening to it all, made us either tear up for being so glad that
we live in the world which he describes, and has taken care of so well,
and so humbly,…
…or, wonder when the next Harry Potter, or 50 Shades of Grey novels
will be out, so that we can at least read something that doesn’t
pretend that they are not made up, …entirely out of whole
cloth.
But when a man who’s done nothing, …attempts to tell us that it’s
something, …it means nothing.
It’s the same, tired old stuff. No there,
…there. Anywhere.
We don’t need a “New Foundation”, Mr. President, …and we don’t need to
“re-make” America, either.
Just leave us alone, …and good things will happen.
And amazingly, without any governmental over-regulation, instruction,
nor un-Constitutional intervention.
But he still thinks he’s the smartest person in the room,
…always.
That must be a very small room.
His arrogance and self-foolery know no bounds. And
lying, and the changing of history (even his own), are the only useful
tools he has left, in his self-aggrandizing arsenal of
self-promotion.
He won the “big game” a couple of years ago, and once before that
(which he so smugly reminded us the other night, …while revealing his
true, condescending self, in front of the world).
So even though he lost badly last year, and is losing terribly this
year, he still thinks he gets to keep spiking the ball, over and over,
for those previous wins, …which now seem so debatable.
But that ship has sailed, …and everyone now sees the circus clown, and
his bad slapstick act, …for what he, and it, truly
are.
In his State of the Union address last week, Barack Obama was
describing La-La Land, …as only he sees it.
He doesn’t really believe it, …but he does believe, that YOU should
believe it.
Keep the Faith.
