From the Other Side of the Edge….
Obama’s Racial
Detachment, Aloofness, and Stupidity, …Motivates Tragedies like
Charleston
By Joe Facinoli
There has been Racial prejudice, misunderstanding, and hatred in this
world, …ever since the first group of Primeval Cro-Magnon people, saw a
second group of ancient primordials, who didn’t look nor act, …just
exactly like they did.
And maybe they hunted better, or had more teeth and longer hair, or
worked harder, or whatever might have threatened the status quo of that
first bunch, who were probably stunned, and most likely pissed, to find
others walking their planet, and ruining their day, …at that particular
time.
Hatred was just a natural response, especially for those who felt
easily intimidated, were perpetually weak, stupid, and/or incredibly
limited, …in their ability to understand their real world
surroundings.
So why has nothing changed today ??
Why have we not learned that Race has almost nothing to do with
anything that happens to us, nor anyone else, on a day to day
basis?
Rac-ism, however, does affect us, …and every day, …even though it
should never.
Why?? Because we let our mental and emotional
weaknesses, silly prejudices, and social stupidities, overcome common
sense, as well as any efforts to solve, logically, our collective
societal differences, …and therefore self-made problems.
For instance, …we simply cannot have a sitting U.S. President saying
that a Trayvon Martin, a deceased victim of an unfortunate event (not
even labeled a crime yet, at that time) looked like the son he never
had, and then side with the family of the dead Black kid, before any
real information was known.
A first year, prosecution office intern knows
better.
But President Obama didn’t care. He had an
agenda.
Nor can we (nor should we, ever) have a sitting U.S. President telling
a local police department that their officers “acted stupidly”, in the
arrest and handling of a Black college professor in Massachusetts, who
was acting out of line, but dealt with poorly by those
cops.
But Obama didn’t care. He had a path to walk, …and an
agenda to promote.
Why would he send the Attorney General of the United States, to
Ferguson, Missouri, to investigate the death of an unarmed Black guy,
shot by a White police officer, before any of four separate
investigations was even completed by the local and federal agents on
the scene there, …and before any charges were even brought !!???
Only one reason: BHO’s Black Attorney General (Eric
Holder), sent by the first Black U.S. President his ownself, …made for
great “optics” in the complicit national media, and furthered his cause
to “level the playing field”, in any way that he could, no matter the
unintended consequences.
And no laws, not even the Constitution, nor any proper and required
(and bothersome) behaviors, nor any (inconvenient) proprieties relating
to his office or to his administration, were going to keep him from
jumping right in, and insuring that that agenda would be heard and
seen, loud and clear, …above all else.
And all else be Damned.
That goes beyond all sensibilities, and all but guarantees that no
justice will ever be served in any of those cases, …for any of the
sides.
It certainly did nothing to lessen any racial unrest, or disquiet, in
any of those locations (and others to come).
Something, …fervently hoped by so many Americans, ..that promised to be
made better in our country, by the election of this first Black man, as
our President.
But not by THIS Black man.
Didn’t matter a whit to him, if he was wrong in the eyes of a huge
percentage of Americans, and even if he acted improperly (…if not
illegally), he was advancing his “cause”, …and White people be
Damned.
What other conclusion can be drawn ??
Aloof, Detached, Condescending, …and mostly, just
Stupid.
No other President in memory, and perhaps none before him at all, ever
inserted themselves into local matters so fully, and thus making them
national issues, with no chance for any fairness nor justice, in any of
these situations.
He did similar things in New York City, in Chicago , and in Baltimore
recently.
Sending his Attorney Generals (both Black) into racial powder kegs,
caused by what the public thought were (and the media promoted as)
racially abusive Police Depts, involved in the deaths of Black men,
…which were far from settled, far from being fully understood, and
where no indictments had yet been brought.
Inappropriate, irresponsible, and, in truth and reality, …race baiting
and dangerous.
Certainly not what was hoped for, and expected, from the cultural and
social descendant of Martin Luther King,
Jr.
Barack Hussein Obama blasphemes Dr. King’s name, words, personage, …and
Life, …every time he opens his mouth, or strokes his pen.
There are Four Things, in one person’s opinion, which can change Racism
in this country:
1) Communication. Talking and
connecting with others, of all races and cultures, and bringing them
into our lives, and including them as equals, regardless of
differences, whether those be visual, …or merely
perceived.
2) Understanding. Taking the time
to figure out how and why other people do what they do, and are what
they are. And to understand where problems lie,
within their lives, as well as how those issues may affect their
ability to have relationships with others, …and with you.
3) Cooperation. Lending a
helping hand, and receiving it, instead of instinctively walking away,
…or slapping it away, …because it’s not the kind of thing, or hand, you
may be used to, …or want.
Focusing on what brings us together, and what makes us closer, or even
one, …instead of on our differences, which are always many, but must be
overcome.
4) Memory (and History). This is
the most important one.
I never preach, and won’t start here. And I don’t
like to be preached TO. But for Racial Fairness,
Togetherness, Communication, Understanding, and Cooperation to happen,
…Memories must be short, …and History must be forgiving, …and
forgiven.
Memories cannot be Selective, …with parts or parcels left out, for a
specific purpose (or agenda), which does not benefit the whole of
us.
They cannot be remembered for the sake of situational Convenience, …to
make a selfish point, which would not stand up when taken against the
greater good.
And they certainly cannot be Vengeful, because then we only repeat
them, and bring back all that anguish, frustration, and pain, …real and
imagined.
And finally, Memories cannot be Long, nor hard held, …because that only
makes the mind and soul bitter, and unable to see past them, on into a
better future.
To give that future a chance, we have to let the past be the past, …and
let it go.
We need to stop blaming everything on Race. It has
nothing to do with most things and events in our lives.
We need to stop making Race the reason for all the World’s
ills.
It’s not, …it just sells better, than the other ones.
The President, politicians from all parties, the media (ALL of them),
and pseudo-celebrities who use it merely for personal gain, …must all
let Race go, as a national issue of division.
When they don’t, and they never do, they only play into the hands and
minds of stupid, mentally deranged people, who see these examples as
reason or excuse enough, to act out on a hatred that has been
cultivated in them for sometimes their entire lives.
These potential monsters usually don’t need much encouragement, but
when they see their President, and his minions, acting so provincially,
so irresponsibly, and in such small-minded ways, ….sometimes that’s all
it takes.
And then we get a Charleston, or a Baltimore, or White cops being
killed by angry Black guys. And White Cops
being thoughtless or irresponsible with Blacks in their
custody.
It all starts at the top, …just like parenting, just like being a good
teacher, just like being a good coach, or an effective
boss.
And there is no higher “top”, than the
President.
Shame on him, …and on his hate-filled
wife. For their irresponsible, divisive,
and race-baiting words, actions, and behaviors.
He is not only a terrible leader, in all aspects, …but a miserable
example to his country, for how to deal with and attempt to heal,
racial thoughts and feelings, which, though centuries old, simply must
be put aside, and to rest, …for America to survive.
There will always be hate, …for any number of
reasons. And there will always be crazy people, …who
do horrible things.
Let’s not be fooled, though, by the people at the top, …into thinking
that Race always has something to do with every bad thing that
happens. It doesn’t.
Bad things happen, …and every day.
Sometimes to good people.
But Race should only be a Footnote to them, ….and not the
Headline.
