FUNN AT THE FAIR
By Lois Wilson
At the famed County Fair
If farmer Funn is there,
He never fails that year
To win Grand Champion steer.
A city guy asked how
Funn grew his perfect “cow.”
Funn mocked, “Some TLC.
It always sleeps with me.
It’s all in the breeding.
It gets special feeding
And eats until it’s full.
I don’t spare any cost.
The secret’s what it lost—
If not, it’s still a bull!”

GRANDSTANDING
By Lois Wilson
I have a first cousin named Claire.
I’d called her, but she wasn’t there.
She finally answered one day.
I asked, “Have you been away?”
She scoffed, “No, had fun at the fair!”
