ALLERGY

I
got
along just fine after my operation. I can walk anywhere I want to but
Dad says
no T-ball yet. We have another problem though.
Emily
is about a year and a half now and recently she has been having trouble
with
her breathing. She coughs and makes a wheezing noise, and Mom says that
it
happens when she is around Nelly. I don’t think it’s Nelly’s fault
because I’m
around Nelly all the time and I don’t have any trouble.
Dad
said that maybe Emily is allergic to dogs, and that is a new word to
me. I
don’t understand how any animal as nice as Nelly could cause anyone
trouble
breathing. I guess I’ve got a lot to learn.
A
pediatrician is a doctor who treats just kids. I had heard that word
before but
I wouldn’t know how to spell it. Anyway Dad and Mom took Emily to our
pediatrician and she did some test which showed that Emily is allergic
to dogs.
I couldn’t believe it. Now what are we going to do?
Mom
said that we have to get rid of Nelly. I said ”no.” Dad said that we
have to
compromise. There’s another big word that was new to me. He explained
that we
have a family problem and all of us need to talk about it. We all want
Emily to
be healthy and we want Nelly to be happy too.
So,
what do we do about Nelly?
