Some Trivia, Some
Truth
By Mona Lease
Hi, all! Listen children to a story - That was written long ago - 'Bout
a kingdom on a mountain - And the valley folk below. - On the mountain
was a treasure - Buried deep beneath the stone - And the valley people
swore they'd have it for their very own. - ...So the people of the
valley - Sent a message up the hill - Asking for the buried treasure -
Tons of gold for which they'd kill. -Came an answer from the kingdom -
"With our brothers we will share - All the secrets of our mountain- All
the treasure buried there."...Now the valley people cried with anger -
"Mount your horses, draw your sword" - And they killed the mountain
people - So they won their just reward. - Now they stood beside the
treasure - Turned the stone and looked beneath it- "Peace on Earth" was
all it said......Go ahead and hate your neighbor..Go ahead and cheat a
friend. Do it in the name of Heaven - You can justify it in the
end....excerpt from the 1970's hit single, "The Legend of Billy Jack."
Feb. 8, 2013 at 10 am (all time zones, I understand), in every state
capitol, a peaceful demonstration to protect the 2nd Amendment right -
which is the right to bear arms - will be held. This is a NRA
sanctioned event. This is part of our Bill of Rights (amended to the
constitution) as US citizens. In 2008 and 2010, the Supreme Court
handed down this interpretation - using District of Columbia vs Heller
as a guide - The 2nd Amendment protects an individual's right to posses
a firearm unconnected to service in a militia - and to use the firearm
for traditionally lawful purposes - i.e. self-defense within the home.
The Quartering Act of 1765 was from England. England felt that it owned
"territories" in our then, 13 Colonies. In effect it said that England
was coming here and owners here were going to house them in barns,
stables, out-buildings, rooms in the house, whatever...no if, and, or
but!!
Two Wolves. An old Cherokee is teaching his Grandson about life.
"A fight is going on inside of me," he said to the boy. "It is between
two wolves. One is evil - He is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed,
arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, pride, lies,
superiority, and ego." He continued - "The other is good - He is
joy, love, peace, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence,
empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith. The same fight is
going non inside of you and every other person, too." The
Grandson then asked - "Which one will win?" The Grandfather simply
replied - "The one you feed."
"People are either wolves, sheep, or sheepdogs. The wolves are the
criminals and terrorists who prey on the sheep. The wolves do not kill
and torture to survive. They do these things because they are truly
evil. Most people are sheep. They know the wolf is out there. They hope
he will attack someone else. (They feel badly about thinking this).
They expect the government to protect them; which is not even
physically possible. The sheepdogs guard the flock. They are the
soldiers, policemen (and women), and armed citizens who have accepted
the responsibility of owning a firearm and protecting themselves and
others by the use of deadly force if necessary. ... excerpt from "On
Sheep, Sheepdogs, and Wolves" - retired US Army LTC Dave Grossman.
Regarding Sandy Hook - Had that been 2 or 3 hundred years ago; the
killer would have used a rock tied to a stick of wood... and went in
swinging.
Two truths should be obvious here - People will stop a nothing to get
what they want or feel they "deserve"... When they do get it, it's
usually not what they expected. (I think that's why they commit
suicide).
If you want to help with "The Cause" - get behind the NRA… join (you do
not have to own a gun, shoot, or attend meetings), pray for the Capitol
Demonstrations or send some "good thoughts." US Armed Forces are
trained… "It's the split second of indecision that gets you the
trouble."
Remember the kiddies and our service people. Take good care of the
furry and feathered ones out there. Be safe and healthy. See ya next
time. Ever Toodles!! MONA
