Prosperity: A happy
rewarding life
By Sharon Hopper
I have
been thinking about
time. Does it go to fast or does it go to slow. I think it depends on
what one is doing and what one wants to do. If you are doing things
that you truly enjoy then time seems to go by fast. By the same token
if you are doing something or nothing that is productive then time
seems to inch by slower and slower.
Since I
have retired time
seems to drag a good bit of the time. However, I really don’t seem
to get much done. I have plans to do this or that and somehow the
days go by and I think I am busy, but in the final analyses I did not
get to much done of the things I promised myself I was going to do.
Then I figured it out. I did not want to do those things anyway. So I
have come to a conclusion. Time can be your friend or your enemy. I
am not motivated like I once was. I do not have the need that I once
had.
My mother
always used to
say that necessity was the mother in invention. And the necessity
required that time management was necessary. I had to get up, get
dressed, prepare for the day, go to work, accomplish something to
make money or I would stave, go home, prepare food, do the housework,
care for my children or husband, and realize that it was time to go
to bed and start all over the next day. During that time the hours
flew by. Life has purpose and one should always have some source of
purpose and goals to be met. Otherwise time seems to drag on and on
and we accomplish nothing.
That is
why we need to put
people who are able to work with a job to finish in a given time, and
a reason to live each day . Then they will learn to fit everything
else into the time left and at the end of the day one will realize
that the time flew by and so much more needs to be done in the future
days. I honestly think that we would rid much of the depression and
illness that cripples so many.
Even
retired people need
this therapy. I myself would never have retired if I had known what I
know now. When I am working on a project or trying to accomplish a
task I am happiest and time seems to go by much faster. I don’t
have time to worry about myself and my aches and pains. And I like
other people much better. Too much time can be an enemy. It can leave
one withdrawn and very unhappy.
There is
much work out
there to be done. In 2014 I plan to find a need get busy and solve my
time problem. I want to be happy and fulfilled in the coming year. I
hope you too will find purpose and put an end to slow time because it
will drag you down. Happy New Year and Have a Prosperous and Busy
Year. By the way, prosperity is far more than money. It is a Happy
Rewarding Life.
