Conversatin'
By Mona Lease
Hi, all!! This column is a tad hard-hitting - it's the truth. I was
chatting with a guy - I think - on the computer. You don't see a face -
just a name. The conversation originally involved three of us - then
just "he" and I. It started with our US Constitution - that it is
not being upheld. Some part of it states that we will not let people
come here (to the USA) to live if they intend on destroying or harming
us or our government - or they belong to a "party" who holds that
intent. We moved from that subject to healthcare - Clinton's healthcare
plans, abortions, etc. - which is what this column is referencing.
I could not believe this "guy" did not know about NAFTA or it's
implications. Nor did he profess to know about "the morning after pill"
- how oral contraceptives work - that not everyone has "rights" during
an abortion - or that insurance companies must pay for this "on
demand." ????
In 1993, The Health Security Act (unofficially nicknamed "Hillarycare")
was "born" - if you will. Hillary Clinton was head of the newly
constructed Task Force and "drafted" by the Clinton Administration to
"sell" this plan to the American people - which they rejected. From
there it went through different "interpretations" until Obama mandated
that the Affordable Care Act was now law as of 2014. Look up this stuff
- the similarities are astounding!!
Now for the heart of this column: the "guy" thought the following was
bs (I cleaned that up for you.) Oral contraceptives - "the Pill" -
contain two synthetic female hormones - estrogen and progestin. These
trick the body into producing less of the follicle stimulating
hormone - along with another stimulating hormone. These are
needed for ovulation - so they suppress but, do not eliminate
ovulation. Two other main effects of the pill are: 1)They thin the
uterine lining, depleting it of glycogen (a sugar) thereby decreasing
it's thickness and blood supply - which makes the uterine lining "hard"
and "inhospitable" to a fertilized egg. 2)Synthetic estrogen and
progestin thicken the cervical mucous and make it harder for the sperm
to travel through the cervix.
We spoke of RU486 - which he thought was more bs. However RU486 "works"
by blocking the effects of progesterone - a needed hormone to grow a
healthy baby. This is prescribed by a Dr. in the first 7-9 weeks of
pregnancy. After this person typed good-night, I sat up for a long time
and wondered about a lot of things. I wondered - does anyone want or
care to know what these (and other drugs) do to your body? I am writing
this column 12/15/'15. In today's Greenville Advocate - on the front
page - was a 20 paragraph report on Ohio's probe into the accusations
against Planned Parenthood - that they were selling dead baby body
parts. The probe found "no evidence" that Planned Parenthood made any
money from aborted fetuses. (I think, "Of course there's no evidence!
Who would document that?). Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine's probe
did find - however - that "fetal remains" were being disposed of
in landfills - landfills??!!!DeWine says there is an Ohio law that
requires fetal tissue to be disposed of in a "humane manner." Planned
Parenthood says their Ohio facilities follow Ohio law and use the same
practices as other hospitals and providers do for the "disposal."
Republicans are introducing new legislation stating that "abortion
remains" would have to be buried or cremated and not "processed," as
they are now before they go to the landfill.
Maybe a new trend is on the horizon - maybe "someone" does care. Maybe
people will start to take action so that they do not end in a position
where they have to consider any of the above. After all - statistics
show that: 1)On average, women give 3 reasons for choosing abortion -
a)3/4 say a baby would interfere with work, school, etc. b)3/4 say they
can't afford a baby. c)1/2 say they don't want to be a single parent or
are having marital/partner trouble. 2)12% of the women included a
health risk among their reasons for choosing abortion. 3)1% of the
women choosing abortion said they were survivors of rape.
Remember the kiddies and our service people. Take good care of the
furry and feathered ones out there. Be safe and healthy. See ya next
time. Ever Toodles! MONA
