Here WE Go
Again….Our Government’s Stupidity
By Sharon Hopper
Actually who in their right mind would think that homeland security
could afford to go broke and cease to exist? REALLY?!!!! Did our
congressmen and women forget 911, Colorado Federal Building, ISIS,
Presidential Campaigns, or the Massachusettes bombing of a race to name
a few. And what about all the National Holidays and sporting events
like the Olympic Games. And Let us not forget the politicians
themselves? In an election year almost everyone is under some sort of
protection.
What is the world is the matter with our elected officials? Can they
not pass a single bill without having to add or replace some other
legislation. In Jest (Why does a bill for the farmers have to include
building The Bridge over the River Kwai?) This is exactly how our
government is functioning and I think it is time for it to stop. If our
government would start governing each issue at hand and forget the
politics we just might have a shot at making some good laws and livable
rules. And just think of the advantage. Our leaders would not have to
spend time trying to undo so much of what has been done. I dare say a
group of housewives could govern as well as the high paid officials we
now have. GET RID OF THE PORK. Our Government reminds me of a true
story about my brother and his friend who lived next door.
We had a walnut tree that grew along a wedge of ground that we called
the line. Denny and Vaughn would get into some rather nasty fights and
holler back and forth across this ‘line’. Eventually the mothers would
come out and order the boys away from the ‘line’ and tell them they
could not play with one another for a given amount of time. Well you
guessed it. As soon as the mothers got out of the way the boys were
back to being friends. Why in the world do our leaders act like
children when on the job and pretend to like each other socially? Or do
they really like each other socially and just pretend to be leaders at
work? Either way over 400 million people are being cheated. We are
paying for the protection of our rights, our safety, and the right to
pursue happiness, liberty, and justice. Let us be perfectly honest. We
are going to pay for our protection and we are always going to have
problems with immigration. We just have it to good here. As bad as it
is, our country is still the best place on earth and sought after by
millions. And we do need to be vigilant from those who want to do us
harm. We need to demand better from our elected officials. Write, Call,
Twitter, or Face Book.
