Actions and
Words
By Mona Lease
Hi, all!! Lupe Valdez moves into a small community, bringing her two
kiddies with her. They live beside Andy and Helen who have no kiddies.
Lupe is not married and has no boyfriend. Andy and Helen are married.
It looks like Helen is "keeping outside company" when Andy goes to
work. No one questions Helen about this.
It's not long before Andy is slipping over to Lupe's house in the dead
of night while Helen sleeps. He has her house key. Some of the
neighbors have witnessed the "before-dawn escape" of Andy back to his
own home. To some of the neighbors...this is a real-life soap opera.
Lupe instructs the kiddies to ignore Helen - don't wave at her - don't
talk to her. (They live beside each other, remember.). They can,
however, wave and say hi to Andy. (Digest this for a minute or two.).
Since Andy and Helen are not getting divorced (and probably won't),
Lupe now instructs the kiddies not to wave or speak to Andy. They can
now wave at Helen. (This is all true, I promise.). Take a few deep
breaths here. Helen returns the wave to Lupe and the kiddies. Helen
knows what is going on here - she always has known.
How many people are going to get hurt here? What will the "soap-opera
watchers" do when all of this is finished? Most importantly - what
about the kiddies?? How do you even justify any of this? How and/or why
would you tell a kiddie - or lead them to believe - that's it's ok to
be with another woman who is not your wife...while you are still
married?? How do you even begin to tell a young child that Andy went
home to his wife (where he should have been all the tihs time) and now
there's no more waving - he won't coming over any longer. Why would you
do that to a child - and send them out to live in this world - sent
them out to vote?? (This will make sense in a minute.). Why/how would
you or could you expect them to care - about much of anything - or
anyone?? In this case, the biological father is rarely in the picture
and now Andy (a possible substitute father) is gone.
That's two strikes - ain't it? (I know the proper verbage, ain't just
seemed a better fit). Seriously - if Andy and Lupe were just "playing
around" and were not serious (which they also never should have done),
they would all still be waving - wouldn't they? And - am I the only one
that's bothered by this? These kiddies will go vote - and there's a
question as to how Hillary and Trump got on the ballot?? The above
kiddies are going into the "adult world" with two strikes and a whole
bunch of "promises-turned-lies." What would a few more lies from a
presidential-contender...or anyone else, matter?? They've been shown
that you just do what you want to do - no one will say anything - not
the neighbors (most knew about Andy's late night escapades with Lupe) -
no one. Am I the only one with this thought: "How many of the current
heroin users/dealers have this same story...or one that is close?? How
serious of a threat is the heroin-addled mind with the above story to
back it?? How far-reaching are the effects - will they raise their
kiddies the same way...is this why the drug problem escalated??"
Open letter to Donald and Hillary: "I realize you've been elected to
the ballot. I realize that those of legal voting age will decide in
November who is wanted in our presidential capacity. But consider for a
moment: What happens if the "two-strikers" realize their true
position?? If this were a baseball game: It's the bottom of the ninth
inning and the score is tied. You're at bat with two strikes. You
either strike out or swing for all you're worth and hope you hit it
"out of the park." What if the "two-strikers" are tired of the lies and
deceit that has been their life?? What happens if they are tired of
being told they need to be 'accountable" from those that do not look or
act so accountable? What happens if they "knock it out of the park" and
clear the bases? That means it's a new game with some new players -
doesn't it??
Remember the kiddies and our service people. Take good care of the
furry and feathered ones out there. Be safe and healthy. See ya next
time. Ever Toodles!!
