My Opinion
By Mona Lease
Hi, all!! Deplorable...a basket of deplorables." I've heard that phrase
and seen signs hanging in peoples' windows saying: "Deplorable and
proud of it." Deplorable is defined as: "deserving strong condemnation,
shockingly bad in quality, lamentable, or woeful."
Hillary is right. She said Trump followers are deplorable - actually I
think we all might fit in that basket - including Hillary herself.
Trump said he could commit a crime in Time Square and not lose
popularity. He's right, too. Here's why:
Per the above definition - isn't it deplorable that we - the USA -
allow the same old "sandbox-actions" to taint the highest office in our
country?? Isn't is woeful that we let three - 3 - three!! presidential
debates deteriorate into more name-calling and the rehashing of issues
that have nothing - no thing - to do with running this country....or
dealing with the rest of this world?? Isn't is deplorable...woeful...in
bad quality (of actions) to allow our kiddies to view this behavior
AFTER we have begged, cajoled, and otherwise asked the kiddies not to
do the very things that Hillary and Trump (and others before them) are
doing to gain the highest...best-paying...most sought-after job in our
land - the US Presidency?? Isn't is lamentable (full of sorrow and
grief; to show sorrow or grief) that no one had the courage to stop
this behavior...find out how you could stop it...or say that we - the
American citizens...John Q. Public - who pays your salaries through
ever-increasing tax dollars...would like to know why this behavior of
yours exists??
Isn't it all of the adjectives in the above definition of deplorable -
and maybe a few more - that our great country - our USA is bothered by
ISIS?? Isis - a band of rogues who gained strength by growing it's
numbers accepting people from every nation on the face of this earth.
(Look up this stuff.) Isis put out ads for Isis brides. Young girls -
from the USA - answered their call. Look up this, too. A young girl
told her story when she returned to our shores from Syria - I
believe...this part is from memory. I read her story. The thing
that bothers me is that the girl - barely 18 - thought she was doing
Isis a "big favor" - and she did. She left the US to side with
them...for a while. But what were we - the USA - doing at that time??
It's not like we have civil unrest and rioting in the streets all
across the USA.
There was a time when the mention of "the USA" brought awe, fear or at
least made people wonder what we would do. They knew what we could do.
What happened?? Did we think we were so far ahead (or superior to)
everyone else that we could afford to "stretch out in the backyard on a
hammock and let our reputation precede us??" Seriously - I remember a
time when only a few things had the label "made in China" on them...but
never on those things we associated with quality and pride.
And probably most deplorable of all is this: "If we adults act in the
above manner in front of the kiddies - how would you really expect them
to act when they are adults?? Really!!
Remember the kiddies and our service people. Take good care of the
furry and feathered ones out there. Be safe and healthy. See ya next
time. Ever Toodles!! MONA
