Hi, all!! I'm done - I'm leaving this place. I'm going to
that new land where you can do what you want - when you want - and with
whom you want. I have the right to speak my mind. I have the right to
pray or not pray. How I spend my money is my business. The government
can't tell me which church I can attend. Just because I look different
is not a reason to whisper about me - or say what my parents did or did
not do to "deserve this." If I want to gamble away all of my money -
that's my right. I earned it - I'll spend it any way I choose. I can
make more - all I need to do is work. I have the right to defend my
family. If someone tries to hurt us - I'll kill them. If I catch
another man with my wife or my daughter - he's done....I'll see to
that. I'm on the next ship out of here.
And over they came - to be free of "laws and rules." From England and
later Ireland, Scotland, etc - husbands came to get a "foothold" in the
new land. Wives and children came later. Soon cousins, uncles, friends,
etc arrived in the land of hope and promise. It was a smelting pot of
new food - new languages - new beliefs - new clothes - new ways to "do
business" - new skin colors - new ways to worship. Every one expressed
their rights - speech, actions, etc, as they desired. There was no
formal government to tell anyone what to do. There also was no formal
government to turn to for help when someone was harmed - accidentally
or not. There also was no formal government to hand down a suitable
punishment. (There's a sword that will cut both ways!)
England came over to demand we house their "redcoats" - their soldiers
who wore a red uniform dress coat. We had to shelter them - feed them -
get them healthy when they were ill - AND follow their rules they
brought with them?? We just left that!! Not only no - h### no. And so
began the Revolutionary War. Along the way it became evident that laws
and rules were a necessary part of life - of everyday life. And there
had to be someone to lead all of this. How much power should one person
have?? Doesn't everyone deserve a say in their life - in how it's
punished and rewarded? Doesn't everyone deserve a fair trial? Doesn't
everyone deserve the right to make money and spend it how they see
fit?? Doesn't every one deserve to live... day-to-day... how they want
and with whom? Yes - they do. But do they have the right to express
themselves and make others uneasy or fearful?? No - there are
boundaries. Read our Constitution - all of it. The Preamble says:
"We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect
Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the
common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the Blessing of
Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this
constitution for the United States of America.
Pay particular attention to: "insure domestic Tranquility" Insure (not
ensure) like insurance? Are we supposed to be "covered" by our
government and be Tranquil - here at home?? That's the meaning of
domestic. "...provide for the common defense." That's us ain't it - the
"common" working Joe?? We're supposed to be protected - aren't we??
Defense means to defend or be defended.
So after some 400 years here in the new world - we've went "full
circle" - haven't we?? All the bickering and drama over "exercising our
rights" - isn't this where we "came in" - so to speak?? Isn't this
how/why Great Britain sent the Redcoats?? Weren't we trying to figure
out all of the above then and not watching our "back door" - as it
were??
As a side note: I am not worried about Hillary Clinton's pneumonia or
any other health issues. Nor am I worried about any health issues of
Donald Trump's. There are other people who have some "power" to make
decisions besides the President or any other "seat" in our government.
What I am concerned about is the fact that I heard Trump (for myself)
say he did not need any money (he did not need donations) - he had his
own money. And he was taking his own people to Washington with him. I
am a registered Republican. In the last 11 days I have received
3...three...3 letters from the Trump Train committee...asking me for
donations.
Remember the kiddies and our service people. Take good care of the
furry and feathered ones out there. Be safe and healthy. See ya next
time. Ever Toodles!! MONA
