Food For Thought
By Mona Lease
I thought I might have been out of line with the three columns about
heroin/illicit drug use. Then I saw the EarlyBird - front page - belt
and needle. How did life get this far astray? When did life get this
far astray? With all of this in mind and seemingly no answer - no
"immediate" answer for this problem...I submit the following for your
consideration:
Did you know? Women pay more attention to guys who can make them laugh?
This characteristic makes a person more attractive.
If your dog gets out, don't chase it. Instead, lie on the ground and
pretend you are hurt. It will come to you to see if you are ok.
Make time for Mom on your birthday. It's her special day, too.
The best revenge is to move on, get over it, and continue to succeed.
Never give someone the satisfaction of watching you suffer.
Psychology says, "Pain makes you stronger. Fear causes you to become
braver. Heartbreak makes you wiser."
Listen carefully about how a person speaks about other people to you.
This is how they will speak about you to others.
When you are at an event, always hold your drink in your left hand.
That way your right hand won't be cold and/or wet when you shake hands.
Wait 4-6 months before becoming too attached. It is in this time in
which a person's true motives are revealed.
A person usually makes a lot of hand gestures when telling a true
story. When telling a lie, a person's hand will stay noticeably still.
At a restaurant, wash your hands after you order. The menus are
generally the dirtiest things you can touch.
Pineapple juice is 5 times more effective than cough syrup. It also
prevents colds and flu.
Doctors claim that having a cup of tea before bedtime, wearing a
comfortable pajama ensemble, and going to bed promptly at 10 pm are the
essentials for a perfect night of sleep.
The best way to get someone to confess something is to remain silent.
They'll talk simply by being uncomfortable.
And for a little inward reflection: 16 Signs You're the Toxic One in a
Relationship (1)You have a major superiority complex. (2)You are a
master manipulator. (3)You're a Debbie Downer. (4)You're always
threatening to break up the relationship. (5)You are hot-headed. (6)You
never fix problems. (7)You are addicted to social media. (8)You lose
friends and relationships quickly. (9)You only think about yourself.
(10)You are wishy-washy. (11)Your friends and family cause problems.
(12)You avoid conflict like the plague. (13)You are never responsible
for your actions. (14)You show no emotions. (15)You humiliate your
significant other. (16)You don't have your partner's back.
"It shouldn't matter how slowly a child learns as long as we encourage
them not to stop." - Robert John Meshan
Remember the kiddies and our service people. Take good care of the
