Darke County Senior Scribe
Oops!
By Lois Wilson
Once again Senior Scribe Poet Laureate Lois Wilson is on top of the
season with her insightful look at the important events of the day.
In this case, she wraps up the season: the political season. It’s
finally happening… tough, divisive campaign, facebook still chattering
and a new administration about to begin. The previous leadership wraps
up with an “Oops.”
Wilson's completed set has a new edition – now six volumes – of
published poetry. Volume 1 is out of print and no longer available,
however Volumes 2-6 are available and are offered as a fundraiser for
the Darke County Scholarship Fund. Enjoy great poetry and help a local
youngster attend college. For additional information, contact

OOPS!
The voters asked the politician,
“We all would like an exposition.
We, your constituents, beg; we plea,
What do you claim as your legacy?”
Surprised, the pol stopped and scratched his head;
Then his jaw dropped as he hatched this shred,
“It’s slipped from my mind into the air—
History records accomplishments there.
Someday my legacy will be clear.”
They all replied, “No, you have none here.
There’s nothing for all of us to see—
You’ve only left a non-legacy!”
