Reflections
Jewels and
Trains
By Mona Lease
Two principles for a happy life: 1)Use things, not people. 2)Love
people not things. - Unknown
"You can take mine if you want it. It's in pieces now. By the way
there, Mr. Tin Man, if you don't mind the scars, give me your armor and
you can have my heart." - Peace, Love, and Everything Else
"Before you tell a girl you love her, and get all her hopes up, think
about this: You're not in love with her. If yelling at her in an
argument doesn't make your throat burn like you've just downed 6 shots,
you're not in love with her. If her eyes can't make you stop in your
tracks and think about what you're about to say next, you're not in
love with her. If her laugh doesn't make you tense your knuckles
thinking about never hearing it again, you're not in love with her. If
her voice can't calm your worst anxiety attacks and make you want to
listen to anything she has to say, you're not in love with her. If her
smile doesn't make your chest quake and your lungs shrink but feel
refreshed all in one motion, you're not in love with her. If her taking
off her clothes is when you pay attention to her, you're not in love
with her." - Halos and Horns Fun Page
"What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared
to what lies within us." - Peace, Love, and Everything Else
"Not my circus, not my monkeys - oh, crap. Those are my monkeys." - So
That's The Buzz
"The Gift-Wrap and the Jewel: I looked in the mirror and what did I
see, but a little old lady peering back at me, with bags and sags and
wrinkles, and wispy white hair. And I asked my reflection: "How did you
get there? You once were straight and vigorous and now you're stooped
and weak, when I tried so hard to keep you from becoming an antique."
My reflection's eyes twinkled as she solemnly replied: "You're looking
at the gift-wrap and not the jewel inside, a living gem and precious,
of unimagined worth, unique and true, the real you, the only one on
Earth. The years that spoil your gift-wrap with other things more
cruel, should purify and strengthen and polish up that jewel. So focus
your attention on the inside, not the out, on being kinder, wiser, more
content and more devout. Then when your gift-wrap's stripped away, your
jewel will be set free, to radiate God's glory through all eternity." -

"Some people suddenly change. One day you're important, the next day
you're worthless." - LifeLearnedFeelings
"Train Of Life: At birth we boarded the train and met our parents with
the belief they will always travel by our side. However, at some
station our parents will step down, leaving us on this journey alone.
As time goes by, other people will board the train; including but not
limited to our siblings, friends, children, and even the love of our
life. Over the course of time, many will step down and leave a
permanent vacuum. Others will go so unnoticed that we don't realize
that they vacated their seats. This train ride will be full of joy,
sorrow, fantasy, expectations, hellos, good-byes, and farewells.
Success consists of having a good relationship with all passengers,
requiring that we give the best of ourselves. The mystery of the travel
is that we do not know at which station we ourselves will step down.
So, we must live in the best way; love, forgive, and offer the best of
who we are. It is important to do this because when the time comes for
us to step down and leave our seat empty, we should leave behind
beautiful memories for those who will continue to travel on the train
of life." - Strong Mind
"When the sky weeps, the earth lives." - Hawaiian Proverb
"Be grateful when things are going your way. Be graceful when they are
not." - Grateful Habitat
"The difference between a flower and a weed is judgement." - Unknown
"Time is more valuable than money. You can get more money, but you
cannot get more time." - Halos and Horns Fun Page
"Be careful who you push away...some of us don't come back." - Peace,
Love and Everything Else
