Morning After
By B.A. Hughes
The Gathering at Garst is an annual event hosted on the grounds of
Garst Museum the last Saturday and Sunday in July. It attracts
visitors who come to engage in our history; stroll among a venue of
artists, antiques, and craftsmen; sample delicious food; and enjoy the
talented performers. Following another successful weekend, Senior
Scribe Bev Hughes had an observation…
Morning After
Early rain
Wondered what might remain
The manicured lawn
Now truck tire tracks
At the cannon’s last sound
Music poured into cracks
Supper stale smells
A tent or two repels
The rain
The rain
The rhythm of the rain
The morning after
The Gathering
