Let Freedom
Ring Because..!!!
By Mona Lease
Greetings, Gals!! Since this column falls on Independence Day - I
thought I'd "mix it up" a tad. A "freedom from" and a "freedom because"
type of thing.
10 Foods Made in China To Avoid

10 Differences Between Strong Leaders and Weak Managers
1)Managers don't bash each other and belittle people.
2)Leaders practice and role-model leadership behaviors.
3)Leaders operate in trust.
4)A leader steps into scary situations.
5)Leaders don't let other people put them down - or put anyone down
in their vicinity.
6)Leaders don't yell, intimidate people, or make snide comments.
They encourage.
7)Leaders are secure enough in themselves to address difficult
situations forthrightly. Strong leaders
feel fear - they step through
it.
8)Leaders build trust and teamwork around them.
9)Leaders take care of other people and support them honestly
and compassionately.
10)Leaders take everything in stride. They don't act on fearful or
panicky emotions we all feel. -

"Independence Day." "Fourth of July." "The 4th." "July
4th." No matter how you say it - the meaning is the same. July 4th
commemorates the adoption of the Declaration of Independence.
This meant that the 13 Colonies regarded themselves as a new nation -
"The United States of America."
Whether it's fireworks and parades, barbecues or carnivals, fairs with
picnics, or concerts and baseball games, etc - it's celebrating the
fact that...WE WERE FREE!!
13 colonies of fed-up people said, "That's enough!" These people left
Great Britain and other places to be free. Great Britain sent people to
the "new land" to control the colonists.
"The Star-Spangled Banner" "God Bless America" "Americas
the Beautiful" "My Country 'Tis of Thee" "Stars and Stripes
Forever"...all tell of humankind's love for "this land." - Wikipedia
Whether it's music someone said was not allowed, food not to be
imported, tea taxes, forced "houseguests" who stayed too long and
demanded too much - the Colonists had had enough. It was time for
action...probably long past time for action.
These are my words and a fair assumption of what happened. People
banded together. People stood together. People stood together for a
cause. They put down their newspapers (imported from Great Britain,
along with coffee, tea, sugar, cloth and such) and said. "Let's do
it!" Well, that's the basic gist. They stock-piled guns,
ammunition, coffee, sugar and other staples. They prepared themselves.
Because the Colonists "stood up" for their beliefs - I'm (and you are)
free to write mine...or otherwise express them.
Because the Colonists stood up...I'm free to sit down in a large
measure of comfort and security to read a book...enjoy a movie...have
backyard barbecues...all without the threat of someone arriving
and demanding it all be stopped because "they said so."
Thanks to groups like "The Daughters of the American Revolution" for
keeping the memories alive.
Thanks to the families of the original Colonists who fearlessly
defended "their turf."
Thanks to the family of Betsy Ross for stitching the first flag.
Long may she wave!!
Happy 4th, ya'll :))

can't solve your problems. Just knowing there is someone who cares can
make all the difference." - sun.gazing.com
