Through the Years

Greetings, Gals!! I recently attended a viewing/funeral. I've known
this woman for some 18 years. She lost her husband of 55 years. Think
about this a minute.......55 years. That means they were married in
1964. They were both born in the mid 1940s. World War 2 ended in 1945.
This also means they were born at the end of a world war and were raised during the USA's "economic turnaround" - as it were.
They would remember the transition from "having to watch your spending"
to the 60s and the whole "free love" theme. Woodstock - the 1969 music
festival in New York - was the unofficial culmination of "enough
war"..."try peace" and such.
As a couple - they would have experienced and/or seen the invention and
widespread use of the following (in no particular order and may be
found by googling...inventions of the last 50 years.).

I realize we have all experienced these things. NOW - imagine experiencing these things with the same person....your spouse.
Imagine going from only feeling your baby kick to seeing your grandkiddies suck their thumb....in the womb!
Imagine holding hands with your spouse (or intended) and looking up at
a big orange "harvest moon"...wondering what the surface of that moon
really looks like to watching a "moon buggy" drive across the surface
of the moon on television.
Imagine all of this with the same person....55 years. Just - wow!!
