Along Life’s Way
About
Change
By Lois E. Wilson
It’s the time of the year we think about change. Have you made any
resolutions for 2019? Change can create good or bad results depending
on the situation, timing, and reasons for it. These verses of mine are
some observations on the subject:
MAKING CHANGE?
I’ve watched change for change’s sake
Harbor a big headache,
An
unforeseen curse,
A
change for the worse.
But change can also unfetter,
Freeing us to make life better.
Whether good or bad, the end that is so—
With every change comes a new status quo.

DOGGEDNESS: A FABLE
Top Dog, a bright, benevolent boss
Once bought a business bearing a loss.
He fired all the lazy wallowers
And laid off the lapdog followers.
"We have too many hot dogs," he said.
"We need creative thinkers instead."
He hired Watchdog to wipe out the waste.
And Bird Dog to find problems they faced.
Then Bulldog brought the capacity
To tackle tasks with tenacity.
Loss reversed when inspired underdogs
Worked so hard they're now prized wonderdogs.
Moral: Profits can soar to the sky
If one doesn't let sleeping dogs lie.

It’s a step forward to recognize the things we cannot change and work
to change those that we honestly believe would benefit from it. Both
awareness and acceptance of our limitations give us a more anxiety free
and pleasant life. I hope all your changes generate positive results
for you.
