A-Tigers advance in tournament action
Hawks shot down by Rockets

MODOC, Ind. - The Ansonia Tigers advanced to the championship game of
the Union Tournament in boys’ varsity basketball action Wednesday,
outlasting Union City 57-49.
Both clubs sported 4-4 records after the Darke County club recorded the
eight-point victory versus the Indiana school.
Senior sharpshooter David Schlecty pumped in 18 points for Ansonia,
connecting on four 3-point attempts. Meanwhile, his classmate, Zach
Brown, chipped in with 10 points.
Junior Mark Bryson scored 17 points for the Indians. Gary Williams and
Tre Burton added 10 apiece.
In the nightcap, the host Rockets (6-2) overwhelmed Mississinawa Valley
(1-5), 67-36. Dane Blumenstock scored 10 points for the Blackhawks.
Steve Armstrong and Dalton Stump added 10 each.
Willie Eviston poured in 17 points for the Rockets. Spencer Shore
contributed 14 points and Tanner Cates 11 for Union.
The championship and consolation rounds were scheduled for Thursday.
