ANSONIA - Through the first five football games of the 2011 season,
Ansonia senior Seth Keller helped lead the Ansonia Tigers to a 4-1
start.
In those five games, Keller has amassed 849 rushing yards with 14
touchdowns. earning him Athlete of the Month honors for September 2011.
“It’s great to be recognized for what you do,” said Keller “When you
are surrounded by good players and you have a solid offensive line to
open holes for you, it makes things easier for me and the team.”
Flanked by 6-4, 240 pound Dusty Holcomb in the backfield, Keller (6-2,
195) likes having a big guy to run behind.
“When Dusty hits the defensive line, he creates holes for me,” Keller
said. ”We work together and practice hard. We all know our jobs and we
go out there and do it. Without those guys, I’m not doing what I do.”
Keller give the credit to his teams success as well as his, to his
coaches.
“Coach Hoening is the best. He knows the game and expects us to do
things right,” Keller stated. “Nick Eifert is the best defensive coach
I’ve ever played for and coach Kiser (Dennis) gets all he can out of
us. They are tough, but they are our motivation. They’re just a great
group of coaches.”
In the classroom, Keller carries a 3.5 gpa and is ranked ninth in his
graduating class.
Keller is looking at either Ohio State, Dayton or Toledo and wants to
major in electrical engineering.
