Teams getting ready
for post-season play
By George Starks
With the volleyball and soccer seasons coming to an end, teams are
gearing up for the OHSAA state tournament, Many teams are looking
strong while others have struggled.
Mississinawa Valley, led by Mallory Livingston, Shelby Rehmert, Hope
Neargarder and a cast of thousands, have one of the best chances to win
a sectional title in the county.
Versailles has struggled in the MAC this year but then again, it’s the
MAC. If the Tigers can smile, it’s for one reason. They won’t see a MAC
school until they get deep in the tournament if they get that far.
As for the rest of the county, it’s a coin toss.
Arcanum will go as far as the team wants to go. The Trojans have shown
signs of brillance at times this season but has struggled at times. A
lack of consistency could hurt them early if they’re not careful. The
same goes for Tri-Village.
Franklin Monroe, Greenville and Bradford all enter with losing records
In soccer, the high flying Jets (boys and girls) could have a huge say
in their fate. Tri-Village has played some of its best ever soccer
while the Wave and Lady Wave has yet to peak.
Volleyball sectionals start Saturday. Girls soccer gets underway on
Monday while the boys crank it up Tuesday.
