As we enter the fourth week of prep football, all teams are once again
on the road with the exception of Versailles.
Parkway at Versailles
The Tigers will look to remain undefeated in the MAC, and should as
they host the Parkway Panthers.
Last week, the Tigers rolled up 478 yards of offense in a 46-33 win
over Ft. Recovery on the road. Nick Campbell was 18 of 33 passing in
that game for 377 yards with multiple touchdowns. While the defense was
shakey, the offense more than made up for it. Look for much of the same
tonight from the Tigers attack.
Ansonia at National Trail
Ansonia will travel to National Trail tonight. Coming off a dramatic
48-40 win a week ago against Twin Valley South, The Tigers should find
the going a little easier against the Blazers. The running
attack, headed up by seniors Seth Kellar and Dusty Holcomb should be in
rare form. The Ansonia duo combined for 376 yards on the ground. Look
for Ansonia to go to 3-1 overall and 2-1 in the Cross County Conference.
Arcanum at South
The Trojans will be looking for their first win of the season but it
won’t be easy at Twin Valley South. The Arcanum offense has sputtered
while the defense has way too many holes in it. Against Ansonia,
Panthers quarterback Cole Cottingim threw for 175 yards against Ansonia
a week ago. Last week, the Trojans fell to Miami East 42-0. Granted,
South doesn’t compare to Miami East but the air attack that South
posseses will be too much for the Trojans corners and safteys. This
could be an entertaining game - not in a good way - for the Trojan
faithful.
Other games of interest will see Mississinawa Valley heading to Miami
East while Greenville will visit Thurgood Marshall.
Bradford will head east to Covington in a game the Roaders need to win.
It will take a miricle but who knows what Bradford coach Curtis Enis
has up his sleeve. This could be an upset in the making.
My blunder:
Last week I said the Buckeyes were playing Miami. Sorry about that one,
I was looking at the wrong week’s schedule. After watching the Toledo
game last week, I was so disappointed with Ohio State.
I also said the Buckeyes would beat the Hurricanes by ten. I now
retract that prediction. The Bucks may very well lose by ten.
