Powers leaves Greenville for Arcanum
Wave AD to become Trojan football coach,

ARCANUM- In an early morning school board meeting, the Arcanum board voted 5-0 to hire Greenville Athletic Director T.J. Powers as its new football coach.
After long runs in the rumor mill that Powers had resigned, it was confirmed by Arcanum principal and former football coach Jason Stephan Tuesday afternoon in a phone conversation.
“We did an extensive search and found everything we were looking for in T.J,” Stephan said. “T.J. is successful, is very energetic and cares about kids. He will be a great role model for our kids. Everything fit when he went through the interview process and we were very happy to get a person of his caliber in our district.”
According to Stephan, it was a win-win for everyone involved.
“I officially took the principal’s job in February,” Stephan said. “As principal, I want to find the best people I can find and T.J. is the best. Everyone involved wanted the best we could get. He is very excited to be here and we are very excited to get him. I fully expect everything will work out for all of us.
Powers will be meeting with his team this afternoon at 2:20, right after school. |
